[edit]Can <noinclude></noinclude> be added? —Mark Adler (markles) 01:28, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
sounds good. tried to do it, but it is non editable - why??? And why can a normal user not see this reason?????????????????? 1st vs 2nd class WP? Tobias Conradi (Talk) 16:14, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
The template is currently protected. If it needs frequent editing, I would recommend to contact Ral315 as he was the one who protected it. It certainly does not seem to be a high-visibility template, by the way. Meanwhile, I added the line requested above.—Ëzhiki (ërinacëus amurënsis) 16:59, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

The "==See also== " line in this template is displaying through into the TOC on
Wikipedia:Template_messages/Redirect_pages, and messing it (the TOC on the Wikihelp page) up.
- Please replace the "see also" line with (just drag, copy and Drop!):
:<big>See Also</big> - This template seems to have a low distribution (What links here) and should probably not be protected at all.
Thanks // FrankB 22:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Could you clarify this request, please? I.e., this template has had an H2 header since December 17, 2004. I don't see a TOC on Wikipedia:Template messages/Redirect pages and I don't understand which wikihelp page you're referring to. By the way, the number of transclusions of this template is over 6000 (by my rough count), thus the protection. Cheers. --MZMcBride 17:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've disabled the editprotected request pending clarification. Cheers. --MZMcBride 01:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- 'So Sorry' 'bout the delay--I was busy on Meta yesterday. Hmmmm, I just saw a short list of pages using whatlinkshere... so the calling templates must be busy boys to spread the distribution that large! Sorry on that. Six kpages is certainly a reason to worry about it.
- The TOC "manifestation" was apparently because I was in a section edit--you are correct-- the TOC is suppressed on the full page. Nonetheless, could be as confusing and disorienting "Momentarily" to another during a subsequent edit as it was to me during that one. Just adding one or two more "='s" adding to the indent level is anthor solution for this admittedly small issue. this was my fix in the other template, as I tried to describe above. (May as well, (eventually) since it "bit" one of us!)
- If you look at see the summary here in preview this (version) edit, you can also see the "See Also" section title manifest inside the table cell for this template:R from UN/LOCODE template. and
- OTOH, Looks like my edit splitting the long table into smaller easier to edit sections so to make more "editable" chunks now also suppresses the "problematic TOC" in the section, since the "section count" now falls below my preferences setting. Sigh. Sorry to bother you seeing THAT!
- If it were me, I'd "bullet proof it" eventually, but seeing as how it's on so many pages, do suggest waiting until making an edit for another reason. (Ah, the wonders of distributed software! <g>) Have a good week! // FrankB 15:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
EditProtected Please change
See also
to
;See also
for the same reason FrankB said! At the page Wikipedia:Template messages/Redirect pages the #See also link in the ToC makes it scroll down to this template. (also, as per code at Template:R from warning template). -- Quiddity (talk) 02:55, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- We should never ever use a DL in place of an H2. They aren't interchangeable. I added a conditional so that the h2 is only used in namespace 0, and the title is simply bolded otherwise. — Carl (CBM · talk) 21:05, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Categorization requests
[edit]editprotected
Hi, I'd like to request some changes to the categorization of this template in keeping with other redirect templates. Firstly, if
could be changed to:

that would be great! Secondly, the listing of the auto-category should be changed to:
{
That way, when the template is being presented as an example (as with Tlrow), it won't sort the example page into the category. (I'm not sure how that works, I just know it does). Thanks! Lenoxus " * " 18:46, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Done with a few other minor bits like fixing the typo from what I copy-pasted and sorting it into its applied category with the sort key "*". talk 13:07, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Please prefix the five links with w:, and add piped parts to three of them, similar to my change to “Template:R from short name”. Background: WT:Template messages/Redirect pages#Redirect display text. This is a workaround for Bugzilla:7304.
