Align parameter

[edit]

I couldn't get it working, can someone else take a look at it? Thanks. --Cyde Weys 07:13, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The example linked looks ok to me, though it throws in some extra pre's and nowiki's. Does adding those make it work for you? --W(t) 07:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well without the pre it won't be using a fixed width font, which makes it look funny, and without the nowiki it's conceivable that a string of random characters in the key could set off the Wiki syntax parser. --Cyde Weys 07:38, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I assumed that was the idea yes. But what couldn't you get working? --W(t) 07:46, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just added a parameter trying to get the overall box to align left or right rather than be stuck centered all the time, but alas, I failed. --Cyde Weys 07:49, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh right, I didn't think to look at the page history. Let's see... --W(t)
And the example is your page too I realise now. Don't worry, I'll wake up some time next week. --W(t) 07:56, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wahey. --W(t) 08:18, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PGPkey

[edit]

By request, I created {{PGPkey}}. It uses only one template and does not require that the user add the <pre> and <nowiki> tags. —— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 18:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I still prefer the top-bottom solution. Having multiple lines in a single template feels weird, and I remember that some template doesn’t work with multiple line parameters. As for the <pre><nowiki>, we can migrate them out. --Franklin Yu (talk) 16:48, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed change to template to make it add the category only on user pages (not talk pages)

[edit]

See here for a change I made (on my own personal copy of this template) to make it add the category on user pages only (and not on user talk pages). I did this because I reorganized my user page using tabs, made a common banner including my PGP key, and wanted to use this on my user talk page (but without having it add my talk page to the PGP users category). I'm fairly new at writing/modifying templates, so I'd be grateful for any feedback or suggestions on this work. Also, I'd like to propose making this change in the production template (assuming there is a consensus, of course). — Richwales 06:35, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adjusted width

[edit]

Keyservers are printing more chars per line, so I adjusted the width from 35em to 40 em. I also removed the extraneous </divs> which are already in {{PGP bottom}}. -- Avi (talk) 20:10, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
