Italics
[edit]Why does this template emit text in italics? WP:ITALICS doesn't seem to support this. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:25, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Michael Bednarek: -- It's italics because many if not all of the digitized assets are works and publications, monographs, etc. See Walter Liedtke -- it's actually really needed. -- Best, Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 15:34, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- I disagree that italics are always needed. Take the example overleaf; why should "Photographs by Imogen Cunningham at the Metropolitan Museum of Art" be in italics? According to MOS:ITAL and MOS:TITLE, it shouldn't: "Photographs by Imogen Cunningham at the Metropolitan Museum of Art". If the link text should include the name of a work that needs to be in italics, that part has to be italicised in the normal way by the editor: "The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art – 2009 exhibition catalog". This would be similar to e.g. {{IMSLP}} where italics may or may not be appropriate, and the editor using that template decides. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:05, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
