USARL
[edit]On the page 2019 USARL season, "seasons" points to the RFL season list instead of the USARL one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:643:8101:64E1:5C8B:31D8:FB47:C6AE (talk) 00:31, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Adapting the template
[edit]In case anyone comes across this template with ideas (and time) to improve it I have started a list...feel free to add/correct Things to consider doing:
Add to the template sections to be used on articles for
Pre–Grand Final seasons (Super League I and Super League II and earlier)
Will need to be able to enter who won the Premiership Final. This will probably need to have a divider between it and the rest of the season stats.
- Add annotation to the template code to guide editors
- Add Fair Play Index field?
- The RFL from 2007 instituted a ranking of how fairly a team played the sport. "The best disciplined club in each division will receive a trophy and £5,000 prize at the respective end–of–season awards ceremonies" http://www.therfl.co.uk/superleague/page.php?areaid=143. SL 2007 winners Harlequins RL, 2008 winners St Helens. Perhaps there should be a section (and an article?) for this.
- Decide which way is the best to show the league structure reorganisations that occurred pre–Super League and edit the template to reflect that. Seasons that need to be edited once this is done will include:
- 1992–93 Rugby Football League season – Third division discontinued, all but bottom three of D3 moved to D2, bottom three D3 clubs relegated to National Conference League.
- 1994–95 Rugby Football League season – new D1 inserted
Adjustments Made
[edit]In an effort to merge the 'rugby league season' infobox template (used for the NSWRFL and NRL seasons) with this one, I have added fields to it. The fields added are: matches number of matches played in the top grade; points total number of points scored in the top grade competition; season_champs_count the instance that a team has been champions or major premiers; and league_leaders_count the instance that a team has topped the league or claimed a minor premiership. For example, South Sydney's winning the NRL in 2014 was their 21st premiership.
Last month (April 2016), I added no_of_teams2 and no_of_teams3 to allow for the number of teams in 2nd and 3rd grades to be recorded.

Needs fixing
[edit]Someone deleted the NRL one and redirected it to this, so "Seasons" spuriously points to the RFL instead of the NRL. Plus the previous/next season links are crooked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.150.71.154 (talk) 10:37, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
If someone could edit the coding of the template so that it can be an option to direct the Seasons option to:
that would be welcomed. Storm machine (talk) 06:46, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
