Nice addition

[edit]

I just wanted to say that this template is the best thing to ever happen to hatnotes. Reducing hatnote bloat is almost a joy now. Almost. Now if only something could be done about the hatnote insanity on Science Publishing Group. Praemonitus (talk) 18:51, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear. If you think the hatnotes are bad, just look at the article's incoming redirects [1]: there's over a thousands of them, likely for every predatory journal ever published by that company, complete with all plausible abbreviations of those titles.
As for the hatnote group template, I agree it's very useful. However, it's meant to be used in rare cases. There's still the general expectation that different hatnote types (say {{about}} and {{redirect}}) should stay on different lines: see #5 of WP:HNR. – Uanfala (talk) 21:45, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This would be a great addition to the documentation. I just encountered this template for the first time, and thought, "Sounds like something I should be using with reckless abandon!" I'm glad I poked a little deeper before making it a part of my repertoire. NapoliRoma (talk) 20:33, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
