This template is based on the existing "BLP IMDb refimprove", which reads

This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification, as it includes attribution to IMDb. IMDb may not be a reliable source for biographical information. Please help by adding additional, reliable sources for verification. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous or harmful. (Learn how and when to remove this message)

WP:FILM's established consensus is that IMDb is essentially a wikia of user-submitted material and only to be used as an external link. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:31, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
