This template doesn't really work

[edit]

Looking at this page, Toilet paper orientation, you'll see that this template is extensively used. However, it adds little value. To be useful, the factiva number should convert into a usable link on the factiva website. If this template can't be fixed, it shouldn't be used. @Melchoir, Headbomb, and Plastikspork:

WP:TFD is always there. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 20:59, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm starting a discussion before going to TFD. --evrik (talk) 21:07, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I don't think I even have a Factiva account anymore. Can someone check if the version [1] URL still works, e.g. http://global.factiva.com/aa/?ref=RESN000020070602e3610000m ? Melchoir (talk) 07:09, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It works for me (after modifying the domain name to use my university's proxy for site licensing), so I've added it back in.
If that breaks, other alternatives that also work for me include https://global.factiva.com/du/article.aspx/?accessionno=RESN000020070602e3610000m and https://global.factiva.com/redir/default.aspx?p=sa&an=RESN000020070602e3610000m
This is what ProQuest officially recommends, but it seems way too needlessly complicated, and the ID is probably unique to each subscriber: https://support.proquest.com/s/article/Direct-Link-To-A-Publication-In-Factiva?language=en_US
