Formatting error?

[edit]

Hi Jonesey95. I see you reinstated an italic formatting solution similar to how it was up until I changed it recently (when I tried to make it more native). I wasn't aware it caused lint errors as it seemed ok when I checked it. Can you advise what the errors were so I don't make the same mistake again? Thanks. The "remove last word" template was removing the ending '' formatting, leaving unbalanced tags that looked like [[Foo F.C.|''Foo]]. – Jonesey95 (talk) 12:42, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonesey95: Thanks for confirming. It would be useful to know how you saw that as visually the output rendered with italics with no obvious sign of a lint error. None the less, I am keen for club italic style to use standard wiki formatting so will consider how that can be worked around if I reconsider the approach. Thanks. I have LintHint installed, and the affected article popped up on the daily User:Galobot/report/Articles by Lint Errors report. I am sure that other workarounds are possible; mine is a bit hacky but works for now. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:02, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonesey95: I think I found a better solution now to my original modification which I have implemented. Hopefully this does not flag up any lint issues! Bungle (talkcontribs) 12:37, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to work. I thought of trying that, but it did not seem to be scalable. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:10, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
