Template talk:FAQ row

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Created Template:FAQ row2 not too long ago. There are three major changes. The first, is a new option that allows editors to change the default "hide" to "show". The second, FAQ row2 does not use {{Navbox}}, which allows for greater flexibility if we want to change or add certain features and styles. The third, is appearance, the template echoes the appearance newer {{FAQ2}}.

There are 34 pages that actively use this template, {{FAQ row}}, discounting FAQ subpages, and drafts for FAQ pages.[1] The two templates are entirely compatible, the only major change for these pages are appearance. If we decide to merge the two templates, the transition should be smooth. Lastly, two templates that accomplish similar purposes seems redundant. What do you think? New Features

[edit]

I've added two new features:

  1. "index=" This allows individual FAQ rows be linked in-page. This parameter is optional, and entirely reverse compatible with the previous FAQ row system.
  2. Show/Hide fix. The class "collapsed" is better then the in-line style "display:none" for usability reasons. If the individual does not have MediaWiki:Common.css loaded, or if the developers plan to update how NavFrame works, this will allow the template to function anyway (because, display:none will automatically hide and lock the content from view in some cases).
