Instructions?

[edit]

Any instructions for this templates use? Is it supposed to be substituted? How do you use the day and month parameters? {{No source no license|23 April}} or something similar? --Rkitko (talk) 02:47, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The template itself contains the instructions. "Use {{subst:nsd}} to categorize by tag date". -- Ned Scott 02:49, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry, missed that. Couldn't that be built into the template instead of adding another step? Seems there should be an easier way. --Rkitko (talk) 04:04, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On second look, using {{nsd}} puts the date into {{No source}}, not {{No source no license}}. It would appear that if you want to use this specific template instead of {{No source}}, you should use the following:
{{No source no license|day=Currentday|month=Currentmonth|year=Currentyear}}, where you replace "currentday" with the day of the month, etc. --Rkitko (talk) 06:12, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date offset?

[edit]

Why does this template set [[Category:Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status as of {{#time:j F Y|{{{date|}}} - {{#ifeq:{{{non-free|}}}|yes|5|0}} days}}]]? I don't see why the "as of" date should depend on whether the image is non-free. jlwoodwa (talk) 02:28, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rlandmann: I know it was sixteen years ago, but do you happen to remember what this was for? jlwoodwa (talk) 02:32, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
