Name

[edit]

BW is switching it's name from Baldwin-Wallace College to Baldwin Wallace University. On some of their marketing they have already started to use some BW University lingo. I created the template as BW university so it's one less page to roll over when the name changes completely in July. Pwojdacz (talk) 01:11, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wait until the name change occurs. "The Trustees voted at their winter meeting to adopt the name change, effective on July 1 of this year with complete implementation by the end of 2012."  Levdr1lp  (talk) 04:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a matter of consensus, but of verifiablity. This template is for Baldwin–Wallace College. User Pwojdacz, who created this template, feels that the content contained within should reflect the school's soon-to-be new name – Baldwin Wallace University. The problem is that Baldwin–Wallace College is not and will not be Baldwin Wallace University until July 1, 2012 ("The Trustees voted at their winter meeting to adopt the name change, effective on July 1 of this year with complete implementation by the end of 2012."). Unless Pwojdacz can provide a reliable source to refute this information, there is no justification to change the template's content until July 1. I would like a second opinion. I am not arguing the July 1st date nor have I ever. July, 1st 2012 is going to be here in 6 days though... Plenty of things get edited and created before they occur. If we waited for things to occur then it would be a wikihistorybook. Wikipedia:Future event/WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL is the closest thing I can find and there is no guidelines on editing things before the event as long as it's verifiable. Which the "verifiability" of the July 1st date is the one thing we agree on. A redirect will still exists in case someone tries to locate the article for the last few days, either way. So unless there is some other WP source that says it's not ok then that leaves us with waiting for what a admin says or waiting 6 days. Pwojdacz (talk) 00:46, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
