Template-protected edit request on 26 November 2021

[edit]

The most recent edit, by Tamzin, left misnested tags: <span class="nowrap">...'''...</span>...'''. the closing </span> tag should be after the closing bold ('''), or remove the <span>...</span> tags altogether, as before Tamzin's edit. — Anomalocaris (talk) 07:22, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted that edit. Thanks for pointing it out — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:38, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ and Anomalocaris: Whoops. Sorry about that, and thanks for catching it. Since nowrapping the whole thing would be too long IMO (but, as noted in my ES, not using nowrap causes my browser and I assume many others to ignore the nbsp), would there be any issue with <span class="nowrap">[[File:Pictogram voting wait violet.svg|20px|link=|alt=]] '''Awaiting'''</span>''' administrative action''' ? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 14:27, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please try {{Awaitingadmin/sandbox}}? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:26, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ: Yeah, it looks fine there. (I'd tested it in preview already.) And it's not showing up at Special:LintErrors. All good for me to restore with that correction? Also, doesn't really matter much, but can I ask why you moved this to {{awaiting admin}}? Most SPI templates don't contain spaces; see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SPI/Indicators. (And I can only find one time this was used outside of SPI.) -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 17:38, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, feel free to reimplement. And on the other point, I think it is generally better to have clear names for templates. For example we moved away from using camel case a long time ago. — Martin (MSGJ · talk)
