Cascading protection

[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please remove the cascading protection from this template. It shouldn't be there. —MC10|Sign here! 00:30, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am referring this request to User:Icewedge as I don't know why he/she set the cascading protection. Is it causing problems somewhere? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:22, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I cascade protected the page because it transcludes directly into a system message, an extremely high risk page. Vandalism in system message pages could be quite disastrous. System message pages are protected by default however on occasion vandals have tried to get into message pages through transclusions.
This page would particularly seem vulnerable to vandalism. It is used in AF edit tagging, which are substituted (I think). If this page were to be replaced with random obscenities for even a few minutes dozens of taggings would have their descriptions corrupted with the vandalism in a way that would be irreversible.
