This is a workpage, a collection of material and work in progress that may or may not be incorporated into an article. It should not necessarily be considered factual or authoritative. |
This template is used on approximately 4,600 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
Workpages are often created as temporary places to store stuff that may eventually become part of an article or other page. These are generally created as subpages of the corresponding Talk: page to avoid any possibility that a casual reader may stumble upon them. {{workpage}}
goes further, prominently tagging the workpage as a workpage. This also categorizes to Category:Workpages.
Usage
Abstract usage of the template:
{{Workpage}}
{{Workpage|name}}
The single, positional parameter is the name of a page into which the material of the workpage may or may not someday be incorporated. Do not link to an article in this fashion. This parameter is optional and defaults to "an article".
