Tangerine (1997) is a young adult novel by Edward Bloor.
Plot summary
This story is about a 12 year old named Paul who is dealing with moving to Tangerine, Florida. He is given with enormous glasses after an accident having to do with an eclipse. He is a good soccer player, but belittled by his father and older brother Erik, who is a football star. Paul has always feared his brother, though he does not understand how it began. Throughout this novel, Paul deals with living in a new county, new schools, and ultimately learns secrets about his family. In addition, he learns that people are different on the outside than they are on the inside. The end of the story is when Erik is caught robbing people's houses and Paul gets expelled from school because he assaulted a football coach.
