Bit confused about the Thorn Lighting HQ here - the article currently reads that the HQ is in Spennymoor, but this is only the UK HQ, and not the global HQ for the brand. No global HQ according to the website, but lists several global function's address details...

This is flat out an advertisement for Zumtobel, and inappropriate for this site.

I'm not about to edit the article, as I don't feel it really has any merit. Maybe the second paragraph can be developed into something informative, but I bristle at reading things like, "Zumtobel is a leading manufacturer in ... provides complete lighting solutions". What are the Wikipedia standards about things like this?

Can this thing just be deleted outright?

Can indeed be, flagged as spam/obvious ad. Digging far back enough in the history, this wasn't always a spamvertisement. Reverted to an NPOV version instead. Seraphimblade 11:05, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the topic of this article should be "Zumtobel Group", since no "Zumtobel Lighting Group" is known.

Structure of the Zumtobel Group:

Zumtobel Group - Zumtobel Lighting Division -- International Lighting Division (ILT) -- Brand Zumtobel -- Brand Thorn

- TridonicAtco

Style

[edit]

This article is indeed written a bit too much like an advertisement however Zumtobel is one of biggest and most influential lighting companies in the world so should remain. It needs some serious rewriting to be of good standard.Pontushammarback (talk) 03:05, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Better Sources Needed

[edit]

The current sources are heavily biased, largely consisting of press releases from Zumtobel Group (the article's subject). More sources that are independent of the article's subject - and not simply repostings of the press releases on other sites - are needed.

A template has been placed in the History section of the article specifically to reflect this. OIM20 (talk) 21:22, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
