Last Exit

[edit]

There's a fine article about the Last Exit on Brooklyn on the SeattleWiki, if I do say so myself (I wrote most of it). I'm not sure if an external link to this would be relevant; Yasser damn near lived there in his high school years, and it is where he first got to play routinely against serious competition. Opinions sought: I shouldn't make the judgment, because it's basically my article. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:34, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the very first admonition in the Wikipedia Manual of Style is: Be bold! Does that answer your question? :-) JFPerry 23:46, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but no, it doesn't. One of the other admonitions can be found in Wikipedia:Autobiography. I try to tread lightly areas that could be viewed by others vanity additions. But I'll take that remark as an endorsement to go ahead in this case. -- Jmabel | Talk 02:25, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic

[edit]

I'm a little amused to see {{Arabic}} here. Yes, I suppose that since Yasser was born in Syria, at birth his name was written in Arabic, but I know him, and he's pretty darn culturally American. After all, we don't write out Emma Goldman's name in Yiddish. - Jmabel | Talk 20:02, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His name is originally written using the Arabic script, so per WP:AMOS, adding it is only appropriate. —Anas talk? 11:08, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Analyst/ Commentator 2008 World Championship Kramnik vs Anand

[edit]

I do recall his acting as a Analyst on a certain live broadcast (via internet). I forgot the exact website, but he did act as a commentator. Is this or is it not notable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.159.103.161 (talk) 22:40, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated replacement of valid citation with a different one

[edit]

Barnabas1717 (talk · contribs) has repeatedly replaced a perfectly valid citation link of a specific issue of Edward Winter's Chess Notes (9085) with a completely different link which does not go into the same depth as the previous (original) source. There is no valid reason for changing this reference, the editor has been warned that continuing to do so is inappropriate, and yet insists on engaging in edit warring.

Does any other editor of the article believe the citation (10 as currently numbered) needs to be changed? Skyerise (talk) 15:45, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Income

[edit]

The article does not state what Seirawan does for a living! He does not play chess. IQ125 (talk) 18:58, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The top of the Yasser Seirawan page is incomprehensible.

[edit]

I don't know what the page used to be but's now its a mess of formatting symbols and references to fortnite and the ps4? Very confusing someone show tackle this. I'm not informed enough on the man and wikipedia to make this fix. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.158.99.116 (talk) 14:02, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
