Fair use rationale for Image:Yahoo! Sports logo.png

Image:Yahoo! Sports logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

THIS ARTICLE SUCKS!!!

By far the most illogical, messy, "un-informative" article I've eer seen. Udonknome (talk) 21:15, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree that this article sucks, but it shouldn't be merged with Yahoo! Sports. Some brave soul needs to take this project on to make this page make sense. Not it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.232.133.216 (talk) 18:43, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Article does need to be merged. This page looks like an advertisement for Yahoo. All it needs is a simple section under Yahoo Sports. -GoHuskies9904 (talk) 20:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Fantasy merged into this article. Still needs a lot of work, but it helps greatly expand the page. On the right path now. -GoHuskies9904 (talk) 02:56, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Minor suggestion for fantasy sports section It starts "Yahoo! Fantasy Sports is a section of Yahoo! Sports which was launched on December 8, 1997.[1] Yahoo! Fantasy Sports was created with Yahoo's acquisition of Sportasy.com for an undisclosed amount in December 1998.[12]" This makes it sound like Yahoo Fantasy Sports started on Dec. 8 1997 when in fact Yahoo Sports started on that date. The start date for Yahoo Sports has already been given twice in the article before you reach the Fantasy Sports section. I would suggest phrasing it "Yahoo! Fantasy Sports is a section of Yahoo! Sports. Yahoo! Fantasy Sports was created with Yahoo's acquisition of Sportasy.com for an undisclosed amount in December 1998.[12]". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.230.26.4 (talk) 02:37, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Expanding on the Fantasy Sports Section

I am planning on building off the Yahoo! Sports page and adding information about Yahoo! Fantasy Sports, specifically football. Fantasy Sports have increased in popularity exponentially in the past ten years, and have built a social network within itself. With Yahoo!, you can either join a public league with other fantasy users or create a private league with your friends. You can communicate through ‘Smack Talk,’ which is basically a way to talk to other players in your league and you can live chat during an online draft where the teams are created. You can also create your own Avatar to represent you and your team. We are planning to have headlines that include History, Registration (which is free to anyone with a Yahoo! account), Communication and Forums, Avatars, and the Differences between other different fantasy sites. History Of Fantasy Sports

We wanted to add a little bit of fantasy sports history, in general, before we got into the specifics on Yahoo! Fantasy Sports. Brianb0511 (talk) 06:07, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Observers

I think that the page is coming together nicely as you add more information. I think next steps could be to add content that explores deeper into the concept and not just at the surface with key dates and a few accomplishments. Maybe adding a content regarding a few noteworthy players/coaches/teams and how they have been necessary for the success of the sport. Also I think it would be good to add more details about the users' interactions with the game and creating avatars and the link because I feel the information would be interesting and appealing to the readers. I would love to see a little more organization especially in the history section. I am also curious to see what you can do with combining this with the fantasy sports wiki page. I would like to see a little more information as well as organization. Good start! Cmb268 (talk) 06:07, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Good job, so far. The information you have added is great, but I think there needs to be some better organization. The extremely large paragraph in the history section is too hard to follow. It should be split up into smaller parts. I am looking forward to reading your future additions on avatars and Smacktalk, etc. Keep up the good work. --Laurensac (talk) 16:47, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Laurensac (talk)
