Name of article

[edit]

I think this article is mis-named. The bishopric left Lindisfarne in 883, and no source I have seen describes him as "of Lindisfarne". The Handbook and Keynes, Attestations have Wigred, Bishop of Chester-le-Street. Molyneux has an unnamed Bishop of the church of St Cuthbert. Catholic Encyclopeida has Wilgred, Bishop of Chester-le-Street. I suggest moving to something like Wigred, Bishop of Chester-le-Street. Dudley Miles (talk) 22:49, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect I just worked with what was already there when I started adding information - I'm not adverse to a rename. Ealdgyth - Talk 16:23, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What about just plain Wigred? There are only four in PASE and none of the others look notable enough for articles. Srnec (talk) 01:06, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I apologise for being hasty making the change without giving more time for editors to comment - due to fear that I would forget all about it if I waited! I have no strong feelings either way if there is a consensus for Wigred. Dudley Miles (talk) 13:44, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
