This page was nominated for deletion on 14 January 2013. The result of the discussion was keep.
I originally created this page because the term "WiDi" and similar variants were incorrectly redirecting to technologies other than Intel Wireless Display (WiDi). This seems to be because of a generalisation of the term (like how vacuum cleaners may be referred to as "Hoovers"). Is this disambiguation page the correct way to deal with an incorrect generalisation? Should there be some indication that it is an incorrect generalisation rather than an official term for the other technologies? The "not to be confused with" deal comes to mind here. I'm still relatively new to Wikipedia editing but I strive to do things correctly wherever possible rather than jumping right in and making a mess. Nitwon (talk) 09:54, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why this page was nominated for speedy deletion by user:UKER since, so far, no reasons have been given other than a reference to the rule it supposedly violates. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia so if I've violated some rule then I'd appreciate an explanation so that I can learn from it.
Also, User:Nyttend deleted one of the items on the list with the edit summary, "Not inappropriate". This makes no sense to me... could you explain (again, because I'm eager to learn if I've done anything wrong)? Nitwon (talk) 12:00, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
