Talk:Whole foods
"Foods" unnecessarily capitalised
[edit]I'd change it but I'm not sure how given that the lower-case version is taken up by a redirect page. Wikipedia Wonderful 698-D (talk) 01:18, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
Whole foods is not the same as Natural foods
[edit]Natural food is a label used on the packaging that sometimes includes processed food or 2 or more natural foods combined. Whole food is real food involving single ingredients without packaging or with minimal packaging. Examples of whole foods are: Nuts, fruits, chicken, vegetables. Whole food is different because it does not involve the “natural food” label. The pages should be separate.
Here is some FDA guidance on Natural foods https://www.fda.gov/food/nutrition-food-labeling-and-critical-foods/use-term-natural-food-labeling It states "However, this policy was not intended to address food production methods, such as the use of pesticides, nor did it explicitly address food processing or manufacturing methods, such as thermal technologies, pasteurization, or irradiation."
