It appears that there are a few editors here with vested interest in promoting their products. It would be great to either peacefully co-exist or keep brands out of this page, which is not really possible..

We need to highlight the following aspects important to the topic:

1. presence/absence of pre-press workflow 2. design limitations (vector based/raster/browser based) 3. presence/absence of end user workflow (e.g. tabblo is clearly W2P, but they lack any pre-press workflow and have extensive end user workflow)

The emphasis should be on highlighting the internal processes that are not very obvious to someone unfamiliar with W2P, which a reader is expected to be.

I'll make some change in the next few days unless there are any objections.

Cheers, Max

Hi Max,

Considering you are a vendor yourself, and have a glowingly positive and not terribly informative entry on the same page - who the heck are you to say what should be in any section and arbitrarily make changes that affect some and not all contributors?

Comparison page?

[edit]

What would everyone say to creating a comparison page listing the features of the various major online vendors?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Max —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zetaprints (talkcontribs) 11:57, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

One paragraph per vendor?

[edit]

Cendix, sorry, I removed most of your entries. How about we all take no more than one paragraph per vendor without too much fight? Trying to get one on top of the other isn't gonna be very productive.

Notable?

[edit]

So, why is Vistaprint notable while its competitors are not?

I re-read the paragraph, and there really isn't an assertion of notability. I've just removed all the promotional material not backed up by WP:RS. Leuko 03:18, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problems and conflicts over this article.

[edit]

Web to Print seems to attract a lot of interest, and there are a lot of products ranging from those which someone can use for 100-200 business cards up to hundreds of thousands of copies. I'd like to see work towards more comprehensive coverage as opposed to many people trying to promote their product. the suggestion made above to have some form of comparison between available products sounds like a good idea. However, you need to hammer out criteria first. What are the criteria that people would (or perhaps should) use when making a decision on which web2print service to use?

What to call it? Comparison of Web to Print services? Where does the line get drawn between it being web to print when you're running sophisticated DTP and sending files via email?

Moving on from that, nobody will get into trouble for writing a piece they think meets project guidelines here on the talk and asking for review and comment. Wikipedia isn't just the world's biggest online reference work, it's also one of the Internet's biggest talking shops. --Brianmc (talk) 20:13, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Web-to-Print or Web to Print?

[edit]

Hi everyone, I noticed that Wiki is using web-to-print but the vast, vast majority of vendors are using web to print... Can we switch the article to match the vendors? NationalInterest16 (talk) 01:23, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
