DO NOT DELETE!!!

[edit]

Vic has over 26 million views on his YouTube channel with 50,000 subscribers. He will be appearing in the mainstream film, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 along with his own show on Hulu called, "Don't Know Jack." Not to mention if you actually keep up with Vic's career, he has been selling out shows to all venues that he has performed at. I don't understand how you see Vic as "Not notable comedian." If the article about Vic is deleted, sometime in 2015, someone else is going to have to re-create it because Vic will have more notability by then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vicfan23 (talkcontribs) 18:59, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vic is no longer a bus driver

[edit]

According to this[1], Vic Dibitetto is no longer driving a bus.[1] Starting off the article as "Vic is a bus driver" strongly implies that he is still doing it currently. Plus, Vic received his notability as a comedian and for his internet fame. Not as a bus driver! If he was just a bus driver, he wouldn't have an online article.

The first sentence starting off as "Vic Dibitetto is a bus driver" is a bad way to start. That would be like starting off James Franco's article as "James Franco is a McDonalds Employee.[2]" Franco moved on past his former employment, and so has Dibitetto. Please correct this fix. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.138.217 (talk) 19:50, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-written the lede to indicate that he is no longer a bus driver. I've taken out the 'internet personality' claim since it wasn't in the source supplied. Note that facebook is not considered a reliable source; wikipedia is based on secondary sources, not primary sources. Stuartyeates (talk) 22:45, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you return it? Before it said, "a former bus driver," which was perfect and accurate. Vic is not a bus driver anymore![3] https://www.facebook.com/vicdibitetto/posts/10152678260268624

Plus, Vic's birthday is February 9, without a doubt. He confirms that in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDqGoDbddsQ

Also, Lauren Francesca is supported by YouTube sourced links. Why can't Vic's article be so as well? If it's against the policy, why did Lauren's article slide by without harm? Plus, one of Wendy Liebman's sources is an .mp3 file. If Vic confirmed that he is off the bus in an audio file, would that correct the article with more proper info? Apparently, it worked for Wendy's page very well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.138.217 (talk) 05:32, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Check WP:SOURCE for the rules around sourcing on wikipedia. When edits to those other articles pop up on my watchlist, I'll take a look there; until then, you're more than welcome to weigh in on their talk pages. Stuartyeates (talk) 19:44, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed some unreferenced content (mainly date of birth), feel free to reinsert if a secondary source is found. Stuartyeates (talk) 01:52, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

More on sources

[edit]

Medium is a blogging platform and not inherently reliable. A youtube video is not made reliable just because someone embeds it in another site. Stuartyeates (talk) 23:49, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That article was published in Family Magazine. It's a reliable source. See link above! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vicfan23 (talkcontribs) 00:28, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Internet Personality

[edit]

Dibitetto is famous because of his internet videos. His YouTube videos are what helped him rise to fame. He's pretty much an internet celebrity, being that is where his fame is coming from. If he just drove a bus and did stand-up, he wouldn't have gotten his notability to be on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vicfan23 (talkcontribs) 00:37, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute resolution proceedings

[edit]

I recently attempted to set up a dispute resolution regarding this article. It appears that three accounts, Vicfan23, ComedyMan4, and IP address 67.87.138.217, have been treating this article as though it is owned by them, undoing the edits of other editors without including edit summaries and telling other editors not to edit the page. The resolution was closed by an admin as premature, citing a need for greater discussion to take place first on the nature of these edits and on the meaning of WP:OWN. I am inviting those editors mentioned above to respond to the policy violations that they have apparently committed and to explain and justify them if possible. In the mean time I am going to return to editing the article myself (in absolute good faith). If you have concerns about my edits or would like to respond to what I see as acts of ownership, I encourage you to do so here. If I get no response, and if my own edits are again undone without explanation in an edit summary, I will return the matter to the dispute resolution process. Thank you. Alright, but please proof-read and use proper grammar before publishing. One of the reasons why I un-did your "one" edit was misspelling like "Dibetto," "Dibretto," and lacks of needed commas. Plus, you didn't support reasons why you made your edits. Saying "needs a lotta work" isn't a good excuse to remove a lot of information.

Although now that you explain more reasonable statements, it's easier to understand your edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.138.217 (talk) 20:44, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. Three more suggestions, all well-intentioned: when responding to a comment on a talk page, it is customary to indent your response by using a single colon before your first word (and the next comment, with two colons, the next with three, etc.). This allows readers to follow who said what better, and to see where the breaks are in the conversation. Second, could I get you to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your talk page statements? It's easy, customary, and again lets people follow things better. Third, have you considered creating a user account rather than editing from an IP address? This also makes it easier to track who said what where, which is sometimes very helpful for all kinds of reasons. Thanks! KDS4444Talk 00:26, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Other videos section

[edit]

Dibitetto is actually known for other videos outside of "Bread and Milk." I provided sources showing notability for each video. For example, the "Staten Island Clown" video started a HUGE news frenzy in Staten Island. There were a lot of articles about the "clown" appearing around random locations in Staten Island, and the spark of the frenzy was created by Dibitetto's video. In fact, news stations, such as Fox News, CNN, and CBS News actually had interviewed Dibitetto about the "clown" video. I'm pretty confident that is a notable video. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.138.217 (talk) 20:59, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Commas

[edit]

There needs to be commas after certain words. For example, Gino Chizetti, in the Kevin James/Mall Cop section, is an appositive. It is, indeed, proper grammar. If you're unfamiliar with what an appositive is, please refer to this link: http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/appositive.htm

Also, in the venues section, there has to be a comma after tours. The intro of the sentence, "Throughout Dibitetto's previous and recent stand-up tours," is an Introductory Statement. To learn more about Introductory Statements and Clauses, please refer to this link: http://al.odu.edu/gwap/Editing/puncIntro.shtml

These commas are truly proper grammar and English. I have good faith that they should stay and not be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.138.217 (talk) 14:42, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Add all the commas you like. I am on to editing other things. KDS4444Talk 16:14, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
