Bozhinov

[edit]

The right spell is Bozhinov see Official Bulgarian transliteration --62.73.114.220 23:30, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, Bojinov is the French transliteration, not the English. Mjefm (talk) 19:47, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bearing in mind that the player himself seems to be wearing a jersey that says Bojinov, wouldn't it be better to use the transliteration he himself does? Binabik80 (talk) 03:09, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Man City Transfer

[edit]

He has not officially joined Man City yet. That is not an official Manchester City or Fiorentina website, therefore, we should wait till one of the clubs says it's official. MrNewcastle 13:54, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bojinov was not on loan at Juventus, he was co-owned.

[edit]

when Juve went to serie b they bought half of Bojinov's contract from Fiorentina. A type of agreement that is very common in Italy, if not in other countries, still the article fact-box is wrong, it was not a loan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.152.227.16 (talk) 18:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Bozhinov or Bojinov

[edit]

I moved today the article to Bozhinov but I was reverted. I did it based on the Transliteration of Bulgarian (Ж = Zh) and based on his page at Levski official website. I guess Bulgarians know the proper name of their national team star. Sources use both. For instance, FIFA.com uses Bojinov while UEFA.com uses Bozhinov. Soccerway uses Bozhinov, and National-Football-Teams.com as well Bozhinov.

He should obviously be Bozhinov, but does anyone knows why was he written sometimes as BoJinov? FkpCascais (talk) 23:04, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I believe 'Bojinov' is the correct transliteration in French, but you are right, in English it should be 'Bozhinov'. 'Bojinov' ought, technically, to be pronounced 'Boy-In-Ov'. Mjefm (talk) 19:18, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

BOZHINOV, NOT "BOJINOV"

There can be no "Bojinov" in English, Italian or German transcription.

It is a serious error committed by people who do either do not know Bulgarian, or ignore the rules of transcribing names from non-Latin ortographies.

"Bojinov" is a correct French rendering of Bozhinov's name. It also works in Portuguese, but not in any other European language.

The English usually transcribes the Bulgarian or Russian ж with "zh" (see the Wikipedia entry for general Georgy Zhukov).
