Phosphorus versus thermite or incendiary munitions

Given the apparent expert agreement that it is not phosphorus if still perhaps some form of indiscriminate weapon, how appropriate is the title? Hipponoticed (talk) 14:41, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that any Incendiary devices would be covered here, including napalm, thermite, magnesium powder, chlorine trifluoride, or white phosphorus. My very best wishes (talk) 21:24, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What's the purpose of this article

The 2nd paragraph of the lede basically summarizes why anything in this article worth keeping should be merged into the War crimes in the Russian invasion of Ukraine article. Deliberate targeting of civilians, or grossly reckless use in civilian areas, is gonna be a war crime, regardless of whether the weapons are incendiary. I don't see how the use of incendiaries otherwise is significant relative to any other conflict -- there's no dramatic new tech or tactical doctrine (like say there was in Vietnam), and again any gross misuse will surely go into the aforementioned war crimes article.
