[edit]There are many Business Schools with separate articles. Please to not delete this article without discussion on the talk page. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 04:39, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- I've remerged it to University of Miami because there is no unique content here. You should not unilaterally shunt off a section from another article to make a new article with zero content.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:45, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Deleting the article twice was improper. Please use WP:AfD if you believe this article should be deleted. Racepacket (talk) 17:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- I am not deleting the page. I am merging it. The Business School only had more coverage in the main UM article because of all of the magazine rankings. There is nothing here that cannot be stated on the main UM article, and the Business School is certainly no more notable than the College of Arts & Sciences or the School of Architecture.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:57, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- Deleting the article twice was improper. Please use WP:AfD if you believe this article should be deleted. Racepacket (talk) 17:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Since Rankings are such an issue, The FT rankings should be updated to show the current rankings. University of Miami, School of Business Administration is currently ranked 83 and not 98. Pls Update. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.254.132.45 (talk) 08:33, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Requested move 5 February 2018
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
Moved to University of Miami Business School. There is consensus that the page should be moved away from its current title, but a clear absence of consensus for the proposed title, which is noted to have a degree of ambiguity. This is the most broadly agreed target, and is a clear improvement over the previous title, which is neither the official name nor the common name. bd2412 T 18:18, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
University of Miami School of Business Administration → Miami Business School – This is the correct name of the school Elreydeespana (talk) 22:03, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- University of Miami School of Business Administration → University of Miami Business School - This is the full name after the name change. Bcf1291 (talk) 04:43, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
- Support Miami Business School. Does appear to be its name per its own website and therefore likely (since it's a snappy title and not some sort of marketing gimmick or long-winded official name) its common name period. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:17, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose and prefer University of Miami Business School as Bcf1291 suggested. Necrothesp suggested looking at the website, but the bottom of the website says "Copyright 2018 University of Miami Business School" and its address also reads "University of Miami Business School." Dekimasuよ! 21:12, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- "Miami Business School" could also refer to Farmer School of Business, perhaps. Dekimasuよ! 21:15, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- WP:OFFICIAL. Many copyright notices show an organisation's official name, which is not necessarily its common name. The website calls it Miami Business School throughout. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:44, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. The school's own logo on its website is http://www.bus.miami.edu/_assets/images/miami-business-logo.png which shows "U Miami Business School". --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 23:16, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- The coloured U in the logo is just the University of Miami's standard logo. Throughout the website they just refer to it as Miami Business School. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:44, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- The bottom of the page you linked clearly says University of Miami Business School twice. And their press releases say University of Miami Business School. But either way it doesn't have much to do with which is the WP:COMMONNAME. Dekimasuよ! 18:06, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- With the common name caveat again, "The University of Miami School of Business Administration has announced its new official title as the University of Miami Business School." Dekimasuよ! 18:08, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Support some move. Either Miami Business School or University of Miami Business School would be fine by me. feminist (talk) 14:55, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Requesting changes for infobox table
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi! As an employee at the Miami Herbert Business School, I'm disclosing my conflict of interest with this page (you can see my disclosure on my user page here, too [2]). I've been asked as part of my job to help with this page and I've been learning about Wikipedia's conflict of interest rules. I've found out that a colleague had tried to edit the page before and wasn't following the rules, that's regrettable and something that I'm sure may make Wikipedia editors more cautious about me. While I'm still learning, I'll do my utmost to make sure I stay within the guidelines. Please let me know if there's anything I can be doing better!
To start out, I'd like to suggest some changes for the infobox table at the top of the page:
- Delete the Motto and Motto in English. This is the University's motto, not the School's motto.
- Change the Campus from Urban to Suburban. If you check the University of Miami page you'll see that it is listed as suburban and the School is in the same location.
- Done Signed, I Am Chaos (talk)
- Change the website link from www.bus.miami.edu to herbert.miami.edu as this is the new website link.
- Done Signed, I Am Chaos (talk)
As well, I looked at other schools' pages and it looks like we're missing some details that should be included in the infobox. Could the following be added as new lines in the table?
- Other name: Miami Herbert Business School, Miami Herbert
- Former names: University of Miami School of Business Administration, Miami Business School
- Parent Institution: University of Miami
- Full-time faculty: 153 (Fall 2020)[1]
- Students: 3,567 (Fall 2020)[1]
- Undergraduates: 2,621 (Fall 2020)[1]
- Postgraduates: 946 (Fall 2020)[1]
- Alumni: 45,000 (2021)[1]
I'm not sure how to reflect page numbers in the citations: Faculty is on page 148 (page 173 of the pdf), Alumni is on page xi (page 13 of the pdf), and student numbers are on p1 (page 25 of the pdf).
Let me know if anything above could be more clear! I hope editors can help with this. Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 19:09, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
- @MT for University of Miami, those edits look mostly good; thanks for coming by to help improve the article. Just a few queries:
- Do you have a source for saying the campus setting is suburban? It appears to be unsourced at the university's page, and while consistency is good, precedent has limited value unless it's worth following.
- Per MOS:NICKNAME, I'm not sure the other names need to be included in the infobox, since they should be fairly intuitive to readers from the full name.
- Could you provide a source for the former names?
- For PDF page numbers, you can include that in the URL (see WP:PDFPAGE) and use
|page=
in the reference or you can use {{rp}}. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}} talk 18:30, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
- @sdkbUSNWR lists UMiami as suburban so I changed it, but I didn't link it as a source, as it doesn't appear that other schools put a reference in that box. Feel free to correct me on that as you see fit. Signed, I Am Chaos (talk) 23:40, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Sdkb and I Am Chaos! Thanks for making those two edits. That's very helpful about the page numbers in the citations, I've made those changes below and I can answer Sdkb's other questions, too.
- The former names can be verified with this citation:[2]
- Does this help you to make these edits? Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 17:42, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- @MT for University of Miami, that all looks good! I've copied the current article to your sandbox; feel free to make the edits directly there, and then I'll copy to the live article. Thanks, {{u|Sdkb}} talk 18:06, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Sdkb and I Am Chaos, I have put the remaining infobox table edits into the article version in my sandbox. Are you able to copy it to the article? MT for University of Miami (talk) 15:25, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
- @MT for University of Miami: Done. Thanks for the improvements, and feel free to let us know if there's anything else in the future! One thing the university can do that's always welcome is to add freely licensed photos to Commons; we'll then likely take some of them to improve the illustration of the articles. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:45, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Proposing a Programs section
[edit]Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. [see below] |
Hi again! Now that the infobox table has been updated, I wanted to try to more cleanly and accurately present information about the business school's programs. The current Undergraduate business education and Graduate programs sections are out of date and not terribly well-sourced. I would like to suggest that those two sections be removed and replaced with a shorter, more organized Programs section that:
- Doesn't include degrees or programs that the school no longer offers
- Provides a broad overview of undergrad and graduate business degrees currently available to students, as well as the paths they take to earn those degrees
- Backs up claims with better and more up-to-date sourcing
I put a draft for this section on my user page so that I'm not cluttering this talk page too much. If any editors would like to take a look at it and either sign off on it or suggest ways I could improve the draft, I would really appreciate it.
I just wanted to reiterate: I'm a University of Miami employee and have a paid conflict of interest. Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 20:47, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- I implemented this request mostly as drafted but I made some edits to the graduate program information to trim some of the details and then make some resulting copy edits. Thanks for the very helpful draft material and the edit request! ElKevbo (talk) 23:51, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm planning to place a couple more edit requests in the near future that you might be interested in. Regardless, I really appreciate your help with this one. MT for University of Miami (talk) 18:46, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Proposing changes to History section
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello! I'm back again to fix a few issues with the page's History section. I've drafted a new version of the History and posted it to my user talk page. In that draft, I tried to:
- Find better sourcing for some claims in the current version of the History
- Remove claims that could not be sourced
- Remove mentions of deans who do not have their own Wikipedia pages
- Provide additional information about the school's recent name changes
This makes for a shorter but more solidly sourced History that focuses on events that have received a decent amount of media coverage. I work for the University of Miami, so I can't make these edits myself. Would someone please review my proposed History and either post it to the page or let me know what I can do to improve the draft? Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 14:12, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Proposing changes to Rankings and statistics section
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi, I'm back! I wanted to propose some updates to the Rankings and statistics section, which contains a lot of out-of-date information. I have posted a revised version of the section, which I have also shortened to just Rankings, on my user page. My goal was simply to remove outdated rankings and replace them with most current ones I could find.
To be clear, I'm a University of Miami employee and have a paid COI. But I hope you find my proposed changes are reasonable and backed up by solid citations. Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 14:31, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hey again! I'm looking for some help getting an updated version of this section reviewed and posted. User:EpicPupper or User:ElKevbo, would either of you mind taking a glance at what I've proposed? The full text of the updated section draft is available on my user page. I think these are pretty straightforward edits, but I'm open to any feedback. Let me know! Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 16:59, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Accreditation section and improved Notable alumni sourcing
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi again! I had been looking at other business school Wikipedia pages and noticed that many of them include the school's accreditations, so I put together a new section called Accreditation and credentials that gathers notable accreditation Miami Herbert has received and its membership in the Graduate Management Admission Council. That draft, which is just a few sentences, is available for review on my user page.
I also wanted to clean up the article's Notable alumni section, as some of the citations contain poor sourcing or broken links. I have improved citations for the following alumni:
- Ralph Alvarez[1]
- Mercedes Aráoz[2]
- Juan Carlos Escotet[3]
- Mario Cristobal[4]
- Michael Johns[5]
- Bernie Kosar[6]
- Ben Wanger[7]

Any help I can receive with my Accreditation and credentials draft and/or my proposed fixes to the Notable alumni section would be immensely appreciated. Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 20:23, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for helping out with my request, User:Spencer! I have one minor suggestion. Could we remove the sentence at the end of the page's introduction that mentions the school's accreditation by the AACSB and its membership in the GMAC? I feel like now that that information lives in its own section, alongside other accreditation info, it doesn't need to be in the introduction anymore. Let me know if that sounds like a good idea. Thanks again! MT for University of Miami (talk) 18:21, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
Improved Notable faculty sourcing
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello! I noticed that this article's Notable faculty section doesn't have any sourcing or dates for when the faculty were active, so I thought I would go about trying to fix that. As well, I want to suggest cutting Aquiles Este since he is a lecturer and not faculty, and adding a couple of other faculty members who have Wikipedia pages. Here are my proposed references, corrections and new additions:
- Linda L. Neider, professor of management (1979–present)[1][2]
- John Quelch, dean of business school (2017–present)[3][4]
- Henrik Cronqvist, finance professor and vice dean (2015–present)[5]
- Donna Shalala, University of Miami Board of Trustees Presidential Chair and professor emerita (2021–present)[6]
- Neil Wallace, (former) professor of economics (1994–1997)[7]

Updates to Rankings section
[edit]Hello again! To any unfamiliar editors: I'm a University of Miami employee trying to keep the business school's page up to date and correct. Due to my COI, I'm proposing edits for independent editors to review. You can see a record of my previous requests above this post.
I'm here today to ask for a pair of updates to the Graduate program part of the page's Rankings section. U.S. News has released a new batch of MBA program rankings for 2022 and Corporate Knights recently placed Miami Herbert 5th nationally and 21st globally in its Better World MBA rankings. I would propose that the section look like this, with my suggested changes highlighted in green:
Graduate program
[edit]The school's MBA program was ranked 67th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2022.[1] and 52nd by Poets & Quants.[2] Also in 2021, Financial Times ranked the school's MBA program 93rd best in the world.[3] The Economist ranked its MBA program the 77th best in the world and 34th best in the nation. In 2021, The Economist ranked Miami Herbert's MBA faculty as eighth best in the world.[4][5] Corporate Knights's 2021 Better World MBA rankings, which evaluate how well business schools train their graduates to handle sustainability issues, placed Miami Herbert 5th nationally and 21st globally.[6][7]

User:TheGables has made a lot of recent edits to this page, so I'll ask them if they would like to review these changes. Anyone else is welcome to take a look as well. Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 19:44, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update. The annual updates on USNWR, Poets & Quants and Financial Times themselves appear accurate and should be made. The section is an assessment of overall academic programs, though, and preparation for sustainability is not commonly used. (I suppose one could arrive at a company, shut the entire operation down, thus eliminating any environmental burden at all, and have a perfect sustainable record and emerge top-ranked in such a vague category). But any updates to 2022 should be made to the overall MBA program and undergraduate BBA program. But if sustainability is a major--and I think I see that it is--including the ranking of that specific program (M.S.) would be reasonable. If it were any other business concentration (accounting, finance, etc.), it would likely be added. Just be sure that ranking applies to the concentration and is not broadly applied. And feel free to wait for any input from others, who may or may not see it differently. TheGables (talk) 14:33, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- I applied your updates minus the sustainability ranking, which seems issued by an environmental advocacy organization, not an academic ranking services or media outlet, and not applied to any specific university major or concentration. But others may find it worthy of inclusion. TheGables (talk) 15:49, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing my request, User:TheGables. I understand your hesitation on the Corporate Knights's Better World rankings. To be honest, looking closely at their stated methodology for the rankings, I'm not completely sure whether they're ranking the M.S. in Sustainable Business (MSSB) specifically or Miami Herbert's MBA program as a whole. I believe it's the latter, but you should judge for yourself. This is how CK explains precisely what they're ranking:
- I applied your updates minus the sustainability ranking, which seems issued by an environmental advocacy organization, not an academic ranking services or media outlet, and not applied to any specific university major or concentration. But others may find it worthy of inclusion. TheGables (talk) 15:49, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- "Where schools have multiple MBAs: We will research the core courses for a second MBA program only if:
- - The school offers both a Sustainability MBA program (NOTE: Not a sustainability specialization or stream within a generic MBA program) in addition to a generic MBA program; AND
- - The latest student intake for the generic MBA program is higher than that of the Sustainability MBA program.
- In the above case, we will research the core courses of the Sustainability MBA program (weighted: 50%) and that of the generic MBA program (weighted: 50%). Therefore, if a school offers both a generic MBA program and a Sustainability MBA program, and the Sustainability MBA program has the highest student intake, then we will research only one MBA program: the Sustainability MBA program."
- Given that enrollment in Miami Herbert's generic MBA program is much higher than enrollment in the MSSB., I think that means that, while the MSSB is a factor in CK's Better World rankings, it only accounts for 50 percent of their assessment. Does that make sense to you? If it does and you want to add the CK's ranking, that's terrific. If you're still hesitant and think it would be better to let other editors review, that also seems totally reasonable. Thanks again for helping out! Updates to Notable alumni & faculty sections
[edit]Hello! With the Rankings now up to date, I wanted to make a few suggestions to improve the Notable alumni and Notable past and present faculty sections. Below, I've listed names of notable alumni and faculty with sourcing that links them to the university's business school.
Notable alumni additions:
- Andy Unanue, managing partner of AUA Private Equity Partners[1][2]
- Mark Richt, former University of Miami head football coach[3]
- Dan Radakovich, University of Miami athletic director[4]
- Patti and Allan Herbert, philanthropists[5]
(If Patti and Allan Herbert don't meet editors' idea of "notability," that's fair, but I included them since they are important figures in the business school's history, as evidenced by the fact that their names have been on it since 2019.)
Notable faculty additions:
- Alex Azar, senior executive in residence[6][7]
- Yadong Luo, professor of international business strategy[8][9]
- Noah Williams, professor of economics[10]
I would also like to suggest a few updates to the Notable past and present faculty section:
- Henrik Cronqvist's title should read "former vice dean and professor, finance" because he's now at Chapman University[11]
- Neil Wallace's title should read "former professor, economics" because he's now at Penn State[12]
- Aquiles Este's title should read "lecturer, brand management" because "professor" is not the title assigned to him by the university[13]
- Julio Frenk should be removed from the section; he technically holds a position as a professor at the business school, but he doesn't actually teach any classes there

Requesting 2023 infobox updates
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi there! I've returned to this Talk page to request a few updates to the article, since there have been some changes at the business school over the past few months. First, I have staffing and enrollment numbers for the infobox, which are accurate as of July 2022. They are:
I also wanted to suggest that the Dean field be updated. John Quelch, who moved on from his post as the business school's dean in January 2022,[2] has been replaced by Ann N. Olazabal, on an interim basis.[3] Maybe we put "Ann M. Olazabal (interim)" in that field?

I think these changes are fairly straightforward, but I'm open to any questions or feedback editors have. Thanks so much! MT for University of Miami (talk) 14:23, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Going to tag in User:TheGables, since they're typically active on this page and have reviewed past edit requests. MT for University of Miami (talk) 19:06, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for sharing these. I've updated them. TheGables (talk) 04:09, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, User:TheGables! I also wanted to ask if you thought adding a couple sentences about John Quelch's departure from the school is notable enough to be included in the History section. Maybe, at the end of the section, something like:
- In December 2022, John Quelch stepped down as the business school's dean. He was replaced on an interim basis by Ann M. Olazabal.
- As a source, you could use that second one from my initial post above. (And my apologies, I just realized that in that post, I got the date wrong. Quelch moved on in Dec '22, not Jan '22.) Since you're an independent editor, you should decide whether or not that development is worth including. Anyway, thanks again. I really appreciate your help. MT for University of Miami (talk) 21:38, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- I do think it warrants including. What is the precise reason the dean of a major business school resigns so abruptly, or is he returning? TheGables (talk) 01:51, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- User:TheGables: Quelch's departure was the result of a deliberate process. Per that Forbes piece cited above, the university announced in October '22 that he would be stepping down after a little over five years as head of the business school, and taking a year-long sabbatical. (Here's a Miami Herald article that covers the announcement as well.) Hope that clarifies things, and thanks again for your help! MT for University of Miami (talk) 19:30, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, his departure should be referenced since his hiring was; I'll add it. TheGables (talk) 01:21, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- User:TheGables: thank you for circling back and adding those details to the article. Your help is always appreciated! One note: would you mind adding Quelch back to the Notable past and present faculty section as "former dean"? I know "notable" is a term that's up for interpretation, but given that he was an important figure within the school and has his own Wikipedia article, I believe he qualifies.
- Anyway, that's just a suggestion. I'll leave the final determination up to you. Thanks again! MT for University of Miami (talk) 15:55, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, absolutely. I will add him there. TheGables (talk) 07:43, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Asking about triple crown accreditation
[edit]Hello! I noticed that User:ElKevbo recently made some edits to the page that cut material they deemed superfluous. I understand that and trust their judgment. I know that as a COI editor, I can merely make suggestions, and it's up to independent editors to decide which content lives up to the site's content standards. However, I did want to ask about one particular edit, because I think I can make a solid case that a version of the excised material should remain on the page. ElKevbo, you removed the following passage:
- In September 2022, Miami Herbert Business School was awarded AMBA accreditation, securing triple crown accreditation status, which includes accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB International, and AMBA. Less than one percent of the world's business schools have been recognized with accreditation from all three of these academic accrediting bodies.
I believe that I understand why. That sentence about "less than one percent of business schools" is borderline promotional. But triple crown accreditation is a notable achievement within the business school world, and it has its own Wikipedia page, which Miami Herbert is featured on, from which I understand that the Wikipedia community recognizes it as significant too. Would a more modest version of that passage be acceptable? A suggestion:
- In September 2022, Miami Herbert was awarded AMBA accreditation, which secured the school triple crown accreditation status.[1]
References
- ^ "Miami Herbert Business School earns AMBA accreditation and 'triple crown' status", Miami Herbert Business School press release, September 23, 2022, retrieved October 27, 2022
Let me know if you think that's reasonable, ElKevbo! And thank you for your edits to improve the page! MT for University of Miami (talk) 17:19, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- I disagree that this is noteworthy. (The triple crown article should be deleted as promotional and trivial.) ElKevbo (talk) 23:56, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- That's fine, User:ElKevbo. Even though we disagree, I appreciate your taking the time to look into it. Cheers! MT for University of Miami (talk) 15:08, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
Source for Alix Earle
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi there! Just stopping by to propose a brief edit request. I noticed that there's no source to substantiate the claim that Alix Earle, who is listed as a notable alumni, has a degree from the business school. I'd like to offer this one:
- Alix Earle, social media personality[1]

Update to infobox figures
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello again! I'd like to request that the infobox staff and enrollment figures be updated. The most current ones I could find are as follows:
References
- ^ a b c d "Fact Finder 2022-23" (PDF). Miami.edu. 2023. Retrieved January 31, 2024.
Those are Fall 2022 numbers. The figures that are currently in the infobox are denoted as Fall '22, but they're actually from Fall '21. (Sorry if that's a bit confusing.) Thank you in advance to any editors who review this request! MT for University of Miami (talk) 20:16, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
2023-24 Faculty and Enrollment Figures

I apologize for asking for this update twice in quick succession. When I placed my previous request, I was unaware that the university was on the verge of releasing its 2023-24 numbers. I hope editors appreciate that I'm just trying to keep the article as accurate as possible. Thank you! MT for University of Miami (talk) 15:29, 13 March 2024 (UTC)

Adding new dean to the article
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello! I'm requesting that the business school's new dean be added to the article. His name is Paul A. Pavlou. He can replace Ann N. Olazabal in the infobox, and in the History section, maybe we could add something like this (new text is green):
- In December 2022, the University of Miami announced the departure of Quelch as the school's dean, and the appointment of Ann N. Olazabal, a professor of business law and ethics and the Herbert Business School's vice dean of Lifelong Learning and Executive Education, as his interim replacement. In January 2023, the university began a search for a permanent replacement.[1] On July 1, 2024, Paul A. Pavlou, formerly dean of the University of Houston's business school, began his tenure as Miami Herbert's new dean.[2]

2024 Rankings Update
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
Hello there! I'm returning to this Talk page to request a couple small updates to the Rankings section. The school has moved in both U.S. News and Bloomberg's 2024 undergrad business program rankings. If you click the dropdown below, I've updated both of those rankings in the infobox and revised the sentence that cites Bloomberg in order to reflect the 2024 ranking. (That sentence is highlighted, so it's easier to spot. All the other copy is exactly the same as it currently is in the article.)
Updated Rankings

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Undergraduate program[edit]As of 2022, Academic Ranking of World Universities ranks Miami Herbert Business School the 25th-best university in the world for business administration.[4] In 2024, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Miami Herbert Business School the 50th-best undergraduate business school in the nation.[5] As of 2022, Poets and Quants ranks Miami Herbert Business School 30th-best nationally and the best in Florida.[6] As of its 2023 rankings, the collegiate ranking company Niche ranks Miami Herbert Business School's accounting and finance programs 14th-best in the nation.[7] Graduate program[edit]As of 2022, Miami Herbert School's MBA program is ranked the 67th-best program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report[8] and 52nd-best nationally by Poets & Quants.[9] In 2021, Financial Times ranked the school's MBA program the 93rd-best MBA program in the world.[10] Also in 2021, The Economist ranked the Miami Herbert School MBA program the 77th-best MBA program in the world and 34th-best in the nation. In 2021, The Economist ranked Miami Herbert's MBA faculty the eighth-best MBA faculty in the world.[11][12] References

Would anyone mind reviewing what I have above and, if it's up to code, adding it to the article? Thanks! MT for University of Miami (talk) 19:03, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- Note: I'm not sure this is nonpromotional. 50th doesn't seem particularly notable to me. And this presumably would need to be updated every year. Likeanechointheforest (talk) 03:04, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with Likeanechointheforest. Additionally, I don't see where this particular Bloomberg designation would fit in the business school rankings infobox currently used in that section of the article, which currently contains two Bloomberg related parameters: The standard,
|BWg=
, which is already occupied with a figure, and the non-standard|BWu=
which, because it is non standard, does not display in the infobox. It's not clear whether this proposed change would necessitate adding a third Bloomberg parameter. Regards, Spintendo 08:35, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
