Rank of Judge Advocates General

[edit]

I made the list of JAGs a sublist (using three equal signs). In the article, it states that Judge Advocates General are either a three-star Vice Admiral or a Lt. General, depending on whether or not s/he is a Naval officer or a Marine; and Deputy Judge Advocates General are two-star Rear Admirals (or, if a Marine, a major general). Yet, the list of Judge Advocates General are all, from 1918 onwards, Rear Admirals. Yet, according to the paragraph leading to the list, Rear Admirals are the rank conferred upon DJAGs, not JAGs. How about a clarification? —Micahbrwn (talk) 05:38, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The corresponding rank to the position of the Judge Advocate Generals was "upgraded" just in 2008. From now on (the incumbents will be promoted) the several JAGs have Three-stars. --GrummelJS (talk) 09:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First off, the pluralization is Judge Advocates General, not Judge Advocate Generals, just as the pluralization of "Surgeon General" is Surgeons General." Secondly, I still don't understand. So you're saying that JAGs are "really" two-stars, as are DJAGs? —MicahBrwn (talk) 01:57, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Beside the Plural question in which i don't agree, it is as i wrote it. Until 2008 JAG and DJAG were Rear Admirals (u.h.) and after changing this is 2008 the future JAG will be a Vice Admiral and the future DJAG will be Rear Admiral (u.h.). --GrummelJS (talk) 11:14, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
