Deletion

[edit]

Hi, I received this request for deletion:

A tag has been placed on Ubuntu-Eee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

Well this article is not complete, it's quite a work in progress, but it's not a 'blatant advertising', at least I hope not. I'm not affiliated with Ubuntu-EEE, only a happy user, and anyway this project is open-source and not-for-profit.

I included this article for completion, as there is this List_of_Ubuntu-based_distributions where the Ubuntu-EEE distribution was missing from.

There is a Jon Ramvi COI with Ramvi as major article contributor. I removed Jon Ramvi links - notability. Also, redirect means links were to this article. removing redir. Widefox (talk) 09:06, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One of the Main Characteristics is stated as:

Strives to support all netbooks[3]

However...

The referenced article lists roughly 100 models of netbook, and indicates that Easy Peasy version 1.1 supports a number of Asus Eee PC models, and only two other models of a different make

I attempted to research other hardware support information on the site and the best I found was

On which hardware is Easy Peasy running? - There are many Asus eee PC's

http://wiki.geteasypeasy.com/Introduction_to_Easy_Peasy#On_which_hardware_is_Easy_Peasy_running

So I wonder if the Characteristic should not be along the lines of

Primarily supports Asus Eee Pc netbooks

It says, "strives to", not "supports", or even "tries to support". It stands to reason they are striving to support not only EEEPC's, but all kinds of netbooks. So what it says is probably factually right, not "doubtfull". Still, the link given is not referencing the fact stated, so you could say that unless a link to a reference is found where they actually state they are "striving to support all netbooks" the particular sentence is unreferenced, but that is not the same things as "doubtful". EasyPeasyeasypeasy — Mistake in the article's name (source: Official website) — Neustradamus () 19:05, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose It only appears that way in the logo. Anytime the name appears in writing on their website, it is as "Easy Peasy" (2 words) or less frequently as "EasyPeasy". I don't see anywhere on their site where it is written as "easypeasy". TJ Spyke 21:24, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More info on why it was abandoned?

[edit]

We might need to add more information on why the distro was effectively abandoned... why did updates to it cease if it was doing so well? Urban Versis 32KB(talk / contribs) 23:14, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
