The criteria of WP:PAGEDECIDE seem to argue in favor of a merge. It is evident that the Germanisation article would benefit from the broader context of the Occupation article. Neither article is long to the point that such a split is necessary. There is also a significant overlap in the contents of both article. JBchrch talk 01:53, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the need for a merge. Germanization is a significant subelement of the overall occupation but also continues the general topic of overall Germanization in Poland (is this topic really missing??). Anyway, our coverage of the topic of Germanisation needs expansion, not reduction. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:14, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I’m really not arguing for a reduction, just a merge. JBchrch talk 12:55, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am also opposed. One page is already pretty long, and there is no need for a merge since both can stand alone. Regarding context, that's what wikilinks and templates are for. Eccekevin (talk) 23:43, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose on the grounds that the Soviet Union has also took a significant part in occupying Poland. There was no germanization on the territories controlled by Stalin's regime obviously. AXONOV (talk) 13:48, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - that’s two different subjects, related but different. - GizzyCatBella🍁 18:41, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Closing with no merge given the uncontested objections and no support. Klbrain (talk) 14:19, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Insufficent content to support standalone. A Germanisation of Poland article is also a merge candidate. Slywriter (talk) 18:12, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose to that - there is another related article titled Soviet invasion of Poland, so there are 2 separate articles. One about German occupation, another about the Soviet occupation and then one combined Occupation of Poland (1939–1945). If merged, then all 3 should be merged, but then the article might end up being too long. - GizzyCatBella🍁 18:37, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose for the same reasons as GCB above, relevant subarticle. And very strong oppose to merging Germanisation of Poland, a topic which is stand-alone notable (although you didn't even link it here, so I am not even sure if a merge was proposed - an article by the name you gave simply doesn't exist). Poplulation....

[edit]

So 30 million people in Poland, in 1942, Russia killed 10 percent which were polish, and the other 11 percent were killed by Germans? How many Germans were killed by Russians and how many Russians were killed by Germans if they were fighting each other? And WHY is the majority # polish and Jews? But the population of L.A. in 1942 was 1.5 million when on February 24th they said Japanese attacked the West coast? From Japanese that weren't even there.... 2604:2D80:DA10:4B00:5907:62FB:EFCB:A015 (talk) 22:06, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For clarity, the phrase "during the Nuremberg Trials" should follow the phrase "what was described". Otherwise, someone misreading the original sentence could conclude that the genocide occured during the Nuremberg Trials. (The original states, "a deliberate and systematic genocide during the Nuremberg Trials.")

Overall, during German occupation of pre-war Polish territory, 1939–1945, the Germans murdered 5,470,000–5,670,000 Poles, including 3,000,000 Jews in what was described during the Nuremberg Trials <as a deliberate and systematic genocide. ref>Routledge Handbook of Ethnic Conflict Genocide James Hughes, edited by Karl Cordell, Stefan Wolff page 123, 2011</ref> Zippyapparition (talk) 21:14, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thank you for the suggestion. — Diannaa (talk) 01:31, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
