Editing Plans
[edit]I am planning on editing this article in the coming weeks and wanted to share my ideas for feedback. I will add more information regarding literary techniques and themes to the Analysis section of the article to ensure more balanced coverage of important subtopics. I will also add a Publication section that includes publication history and publisher information, as well as a Reception section that mentions the awards the novel has received and its reviews at the time it was published; Wikipedia has recommended that such sections exist for articles on books. I plan to reorganize the structure of this article to better align with Wikipedia's recommendations as well; for example, I will integrate the Author Information section into the Background section. I will rewrite the Plot and Characters sections to clean up the small grammatical errors, to improve the flow from one sentence to the next, and to remove irrelevant details, as these edits will help present the information in a more concise and clear manner to readers. I will also add references to all the unsourced material currently on the page. Feel free to look at my annotated bibliography for more information on my sources. Quality
[edit]I've cleaned up this page. Please help me add more details and write it in a more "Encyclopedia Britannica" style and less of a "1st grade book report" style. Thanks in advance. Nousernamesleft 22:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I have also moved this up to Start class. Nousernamesleft 22:40, 8 March 2007 (UTC) It's funny when his older brother gets his lips stuck to the mirror of the brown bomber.
I think it didn't make sense that when they go to Aunt Cydneys house, they don't really go there in the book. I wonder why they even put it there.
the watsons
[edit]Hey, I just added a lot of stuff I am not very good at spelling, ext. So, feel free to help out.
- I don't know if one's allowed to copy strainght from the book (apparaently you did so with the history and About the Author sections), and didn't the article previsouly suggest when Kenny and Joetta saw each other just before their dangerous situations (Kenny nearly drowning in the Wrillpool, and Joetta nearly being present for the bombing), they really saw each other as their guardian angles? Oh, and please sign your comments. Andrewnuva199 (talk) 20:36, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, anyone know how to fix the Infobox? Andrewnuva199 (talk) 20:37, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Cover Illustration
[edit]Would anybody out there know how to upload a image of the cover of the book without infringing on the author's copyright? This would complete the infobox.bornapilot (talk) 17:10, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
film version?
[edit]Mention of a movie version of this book has been added a couple of times now, but with no sources. I've looked around myself and found a bio of a writer named Kevin Willimott who supposedly wrote a screenplay of this book for CBS, but couldn't find any mention of an actual production (or even pre-production) of a Watsons movie.
I'll leave the just-added paragraph about a movie version for now in the hopes that somebody can substantiate the rumor, but it'll have to go eventually if no sources are found. Zeng8r (talk) 21:49, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
- I performed several more searches today for any mention of a movie version but once again came up empty (besides repostings of this article, which don't count). The section is therefore gone. If anyone finds real documentation of a film production, please add it back to the article. Thanks. Zeng8r (talk) 19:03, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Photography of Cover
[edit]There should be a photograph of the cover on this article! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.6.54.109 (talk) 23:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Civil Rights Movement
[edit]I think this article can benefit from including historical context about the Civil Rights Movement, don't you think? This is a crucial part in understanding this piece of literature and seems to be lacking throughout this article. Nlaszewski (talk) 02:23, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
Additional Background Information
[edit]As 2021 was the 25th anniversary of the novel, there have been several interviews with Christopher Paul Curtis about the book. I think including information from them could help to enhance the background section of the article. Ehj40 (talk) 20:21, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
