Major Cleanup
[edit]I will be honest on this point: this is one of the most challenging edits I've ever made on an article. Here's why:
- Lack of organization. The awards came in first before the history (not to mention, long). Solution: I placed the awards after the history section. Then I divided them in sections
- Next steps: the awards should be listed chronologically.
- Too many capitalizations on placenames. My workaround is to wikify each country and cities so that they link to each location's articles.
- Too many capitalizations on other names. Also wikified the links to some of the names.
- Too many boldfaces. Once the other names/words were properly wikified, I left the boldface on only one place: right at the beginning. To me, whether on Wiki or in print media, too much boldface is a burden to read. Simpler is better.
Some things I have in mind to improve this article:
- External links. As much as possible, by publications and journals that cite the UPSA's activities
- Extensive rewrite of the article (grammar, voice, diction). In other words, making this article as encyclopedic as possible, not like it was written by the UPSA's media representatives or by an active member or alumni.
There's much work to do here, but I do hope that my efforts are the first step in cleaning up this article. If you have more suggestions, or if you want to help, please let me know.

Requested move
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was Move, could probably have been listed in the "uncontroversial" section. Parsecboy (talk) 15:14, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
The University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors → University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors — The article "the" is not significant to the group's name. Even its website refer to them as "UPSA." — Starczamora (talk) 04:07, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

- Support. The website doesn't capitalise the The... in running text, so assuming this is typical usage, by WP:NC#Avoid the definite article ("the") and the indefinite article ("a"/"an") at the beginning of the page name it doesn't belong in the article title.
