Fair use rationale for Image:LastWaltzCover.jpg
[edit]Image:LastWaltzCover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Accolades
[edit]This is a fairly iconic album that appears on several "Best of" lists, especially for live recordings. NME listed it at #33 of their "50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time" in 2003(http://www.nme.com/photos/the-50-greatest-live-albums-of-all-time/207806/1/1#18), and Paul Gambaccini listed it at #96 in his 1987 book "100 Greatest Albums" (http://www.timepieces.nl/Top100%27s/1987PaulGambaccini.html). I think Q listed it at #2 in their 2006 list of "20 Greatest Live Albums" but I haven't found the cite yet. The movie usually gets into one of the top spots of the best concert films of all time (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/photos/readers-poll-the-best-concert-movies-of-all-time-20120314/1-the-last-waltz-0367401), but that's probably better left to the concert article.
I'm gonna try to shore up the references and ratings and add a section for it. Comments/suggestions welcome. Jrdeardorff (talk) 18:49, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]The Last Waltz (2002 album) should be merged into this. That article is largely a track listing and personnel, which overlaps here, and many sources treat these as different releases of the same album (e.g. Discogs and Musicbrainz). There isn't enough material in terms of the albums themselves nor from reliable sources to consider these separate releases, just different versions of the same album. ] ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 04:02, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- Support: there are multiple paragraphs in the lead but not so much to take up too much space in the other article, and that's even assuming all of that's keepable since none of it appears to be sourced aside from one fansite at the end of the third paragraph. QuietHere (talk) 05:12, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- Support: it's just an expanded version of the 1978 album. We don't have separate articles for deluxe or expanded editions of albums, and I don't see the difference here. Richard3120 (talk) 18:07, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
It's been a month and the relevant thread at WT:ALBUM has been archived, so I'm going for it. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 01:20, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
