Deletion?

[edit]

The whole article is based on a simple mistake - the woman in question is not Tania, but Mania, and her story is given in full by Xenophon, Hellenica 3.1.10ff. She has nothing to do with the Middle East, and her family were almost certainly Greek. Since an article for Mania does not exist, an alternative to deletion would be to rename the article after the actual historical figure. Ajcee7 (talk) 14:38, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to Mavia (queen), who is also called Mania? Because she has a separate article. I'll double check Polynaeus regarding Tania and see what I can add. Asarelah (talk) 17:48, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just checked it. Apparently her name really is Mania. I'll change it at once. Asarelah (talk) 17:53, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unique source

[edit]

100% of the information about Mania on this Wikipedia page comes from a couple of nice and easy-to-read pages in Xenophon’s Hellenica (III, 2). Quoting a few sentences from this author would have been smarter than trying a summary of his text and confusing readers with later and partial sources that do not add anything to what Xenophon writes.
