Why are there two links to commercial sites? Seems like they're doing some advertising.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.39.147.221 (talk) 23:27, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Diagrams

[edit]

Add diagrams please, for those of us who do not understand the subject.

I second that. I don't guite get the difference between push and hidden. 195.22.117.118 (talk) 16:33, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

The title of this article should be changed, probably to Tang_(tools) Knives have a much longer history and wider use as tools than as weapons, and aside from that, a lot of non-knife carpentry and stone working tools also have a tang.

I agree with this, and have been bold and made the move. GrindtXX (talk) 13:26, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tang insertion

[edit]

I was trying to find out the proper method of inserting the tang into the handle. I was always taught to insert and firmly bang on the table. Someone else used a mallet. Bill Vila says either, I was looking for some confirmation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mickeyrhpeters (talkcontribs) 15:30, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

spears and arrows

[edit]

I just wanted to add that both spear heads and arrow heads also sometimes use a tang as a way to attach the head to the shaft and this should be included in the article. However I also agree that many tools also use some sort of tang mechanism for the attachement of the head to the handle/shaft. Master z0b (talk) 02:14, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
