New South Wales or Jervis Bay Territory

[edit]

The origin of the reference I used for New South Wales is Australia Post postcodes. I also note that the map on the page shows Sussex Inlet to be slightly outside of JBT (even though the text says it's inside. --Scott Davis Talk 01:53, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

article name conventions

[edit]

If this article is about a town, the name should be Sussex Inlet, Jervis Bay Territory. If it's about a geographic feature (an inlet in this case), it should be Sussex Inlet (Jervis Bay Territory). That's assuming it correctly is in Jervis Bay Territory not New South Wales as the reference above suggests. Also [1]. --Scott Davis Talk 23:23, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Councils

[edit]

This article claims that Sussex Inlet is one of two councils in Jervis Bay Territory. Local Government Area says

The Australian Capital Territory, Jervis Bay Territory and the external territories do not have Local Government Areas distinct from their Territory governments.

Which is correct? Please cite a source for whichever article is changed. --Scott Davis Talk 09:16, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DOTARS [2] is quite clear that the Jervis Bay Administration is responsible for providing state and local government services. If there is indeed a "Sussex Inlet community council" or something like that, there should be a reference for it (DOTARS only mentions a Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council). All maps I have seen are quite clear that the main Sussex Inlet town is in New South Wales (it is also listed by the GNB of NSW, etc.), and DOTARS [3] suggests that the 2001 population of the settlement within JBT at Sussex Inlet was 18!
