Stylomecon vs Papaver?

There appears to be a debate as to which is correct, vs. the synonym. Commons has the species as Papaver heterophyllum. Opinions? --Pete Tillman (talk) 18:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Flora of North America, USDA PLANTS and GRIN all have it as Stylomecon. But FNA and GRIN treatments date to the 1990s and PLANTS isn't updated very often either. The Plant List goes with Papaver and is the usual source we follow. Probably should be at Papaver heterophyllum, but would be good to find a research paper (not just a database citation) supporting this placement. Plantdrew (talk) 19:05, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merge to Papaver
