[edit]ok wtf, in here it says she's 27, but in her myspace page, she's 24. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.11.73.232 (talk) 06:37, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- How long has it since she's updated said MySpace page? Chances are, she hasn't updated in 3-4 years. 68.149.121.27 (talk) 22:33, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I've never been so compelled to look someone up just to uncover that their super-annoying voice is a fake, as I have with this girl. I was happy enough humming aloud while she spoke on YTV, to try to cover it up, but during a humming lapse, I heard what sounded almost like a couple normal-voiced words thrown into her 5 yr old + Elmo voice. I was astounded, and needed to find out what this girl's name was, which eventually brought me here. I haven't yet uncovered any hard evidence that she's a fake... but I will.
You'll slip up again, "Sugar".... oh yes.... and I'll be there to catch it.

- What a pointless comment - thanks for sharing. And not signing it, either. --Marcg106 04:52, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- She's a voice talent — like those people who provide several voices for cartoon shows. Whether her YTV voice is her off-screen voice is immaterial. Tell me: are actors fakes when they colour their hair when making a film? -- Perfecto 05:53, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
I've known her since 1999. I was at that Roots staff party where she was "discovered". We worked together for 2 years at Roots, were friends and that is indeed her voice. I just can't believe my girl is a Wikipedia entry! DREE
Munchkin
[edit]Despite the strange nature of this discussion, Stephanie Beard's voice is, in my opinion, her most notable and distinctive feature. I think a voice sample would be an excellent addition to this page. Also, I believe I read somewhere that she is the child of parents who are both Little People. Furthermore, I think they may even have 15 minutes of fame as 'Lollipop Guild' members in the Wizard of Oz. If I can find reliable references, I'll add the information to the page. --Fracture98 05:09, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- If she was born in 1980, her parents are unlikely to have been Munchkins in 1939. Adam Bishop 05:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, most of the Munchkins have died, only five or so were still living, as of 2001 or so. As Sugar is of a fairly normal stature, I doubt any of her ancestors are midgets. -- Zanimum 21:58, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Departure from YTV?
[edit]Hi. She seems to have left YTV? Can someone say when and why in the article? Can someone find a reference? Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 16:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- "On January 19, Beard announced that she will be leaving YTV and heading for California. There, she is hoping to further herself in the entertainment business. Stephanie is an alumna of Pope John Paul II Catholic Secondary School in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada." Does that count? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUyekUSxDPI --Phred Levi 17:52, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Deleted information
[edit]I noticed in this edit that a lot of information was removed from the page. I don't agree with it, because I think much of this could be true. I think rather than removal the correct step would be to fact-tag the claims and await verification. For now, I will re-post the info on the talk page, and encourage anyone who agrees with its inclusion to add it back. I'm listing it as bullets for the moment.
Live acting
[edit]- She has appeared in "The Santa Claus Brothers".
- Beard made cameos in a series of Crispy Crunch television commercials in 2002 with commercial actor Christian Potenza.
- On January 19, 2007, Beard announced that she will be leaving YTV and heading for California.
- Beard has worked on many movies and is currently going to star in two upcoming films; Not Quite College and A True Story. Based on Things That Never Actually Happened...And Some That Did." Both films are finished and are currently being given to movie festivals. Both movies are also by the same company.
- In the summer of 2011 Beard had begun hosting video blogs of herself on Lockerz referring to herself as "Sug" in each video, as well as starring in a skit for Funny Or Die playing the lead role of "The Annoying Darla". Sugar is set to star in upcoming films, Stag and For A Good Time, Call...
Dub work
[edit]She has done dub work including:
- Rini (Sailor Mini Moon) from Sailor Moon
- Ming-Ming from Beyblade
- Momo Umezono from Mirmo!
Original cartoon voice-acting
[edit]Beard has also lent her voice to the Mike Judge animated sitcom, King of the Hill. Beard also plays Sharron her TV show. She has also voiced:
- Isabelle, a blondheaded little girl in pigtails from the Rescue Heroes TV series.
- Creech from the series of Cyberchase
- Kirsten McBradden from Captain Flamingo
- Wish Bear in the Care Bear movies: Journey to Joke-a-lot and the Big Wish Movie.
- Kara on Di-Gata Defenders, a show on Teletoon.
- Tami in "The Amazing Spiez".
- Lily Hedgehog in The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog
Music
[edit]- An official video for the song (Z-Dot), was aired on YTV, including her, and Carlos.
- She did a rap cover of The Real Slim Shady called "The Real Sugar Baby".
In conclusion
[edit]Sugar's voice acting roles are very notable. During her run as a host of The Zone, she spoke extensively about dubbing the voice of Rini (Mini Moon) while it was airing on that channel. Any fan of YTV at the time would know this. That someone deletes the information shows they must only know about her more recent live work and not her anime background. Who is Carlos?
[edit]Re: "She and Carlos hosted a weekly hour-long program, Plugged In"
Since the link to Mediacaster doesn't go to the story anymore, anyone know who Carlos is? It seems a good idea to fill out the rest of the name. Thanks!Darci (talk) 20:25, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
