Untitled

[edit]

This reads more like an essay on the need to pay attention to small powers than an encyclopedia entry on what small powers actually are. The wikipedia page on middle powers would be a good model for improving this page.

Use of the term "state"

[edit]

The article should mention the term "state" very early on. It should be a link to Sovereign state, as for Superpower, specifically:

  [[Sovereign state|state]]

Orphaned references in Small power

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Small power's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Solomon":

  • From Pakistan: Hussein Solomon. "South African Foreign Policy and Middle Power Leadership". Archived from the original on 24 June 2002. Retrieved 27 December 2011.
  • From Middle power: Solomon S (1997) South African Foreign Policy and Middle Power Leadership, ISS

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 08:57, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A small state is...

[edit]

The article seems to open assuming that the reader already knows what a small state is. It would be very helpful to start with "A small state is..." and give a nutshell definition for those readers, like me, who happened across this article and had to read the opening paragraph a few times before realising it was something to do with countries and not a psychological state. I would edit it myself, but I'm still not sure what a small state is. Robyn2000 (talk) 07:57, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Caribbean States is small power states or Medium power states?

[edit]

I believe confusingly that most of Caribbean states are categorised as small power states because of their internal realities such as economic development, military capability, technology and cultural influence among other things. Emperorlll (talk) 08:03, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
