Discharge from army
[edit]I have raised a citation need against the statement he was discharged from the Leicestershire Yeomanry because of a steeplechase accident, because his biography in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, article by Nigel Nicolson (who was a parliamentary colleague who shared his views on the Suez issue and also came to an early end in his Commons career), states he was discharged because of asthma with no mention of an accident. The same ODNB article also states he joined the Yeomanry before the outbreak of WWII; certainly had he joined at the outbreak (September 1939) and been invalided "a year later" (generally assumed to mean at least 12 months) then it would have been too late for him to see diplomatic service in Paris before the Fall of France. I will populate the article with ODNB information in due course.Cloptonson (talk) 19:21, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
"youngest member of Winston Churchill's government after World War II"
[edit]The statement he was the youngest member of Winston Churchill's Government after World War II is historically misleading. Nutting was not in the Caretaker Government that followed the end of the war in Europe and Churchill was defeated at the next General Election before the war with Japan ended in 1945. Churchill did not return to government until 1951, so I would consider it too late after World War II to accept the statement as it is.Cloptonson (talk) 19:38, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
