Surely given the rareness of armed police officers outside of the security theater that is today airports deserves a more appropriate picture? Maybe one of the one referenced here? (CC licensed )

Australia - Colour

[edit]

The Sillitoe Tartan band on the SA Police hat in the 1980s was black and white. I'm not sure it has actually changed. Ozdaren (talk) 23:45, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Queensland Police cap band is black and white (I guess watching it on TV tonight is original research...). Ozdaren (talk) 13:30, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A google search shows the WA police use black and white on traditional style peaked caps and blue and white on baseball caps. Ozdaren (talk) 13:55, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Iceland

[edit]

It seems to be used in Iceland as well. Hellerick (talk) 14:13, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Photographs

[edit]

Regarding the recent addition of the HM Coastguard vehicle photograph. It is already part of the Battenburg markings article so, should it be in this article as well? --Dreddmoto (talk) 18:16, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to decide. Battenburg and Silitoe Tartan overlap in many of their characteristics. The two "layers" of patterns on the HM Coastguard livery resemble Battenburg, but its form as a thinner strip along the side of the vehicle, as opposed to being a wider covering as you see with other Battenburg markings, makes it also resemble Silitoe Tartan - Democfest (talk) 01:01, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Democfest, I had not considered that. Thanks for replying. --Dreddmoto (talk) 01:02, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
