Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose to merge Puah into Shiphrah. Much of the Puah article is repeated in the Shiphrah article. Furthermore one is almost never discussed without the other. They should be treated like other Wikipedia articles on biblical pairs such as Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, or Sodom and Gomorrah. --GHcool (talk) 18:39, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wholeheartedly agree. Debresser (talk) 00:42, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds right. Title "Shiphrah and Puah"? The second Puah is at List of minor Old Testament figures, L–Z, though details differ. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:04, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There's some humor in this story (genocide aside), I think. When they tell Pharaoh " 'Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwife come unto them.'", it seems implied that his response was something like "Oh, ok", rather than "Liars. Off with their heads." Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:26, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, "Shiphrah and Puah" would be the title I had in mind. --GHcool (talk) 19:52, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
