Pooja Gandhi has recently invested in a fitness startup callled froyofit which is based out of Indore and founded by IIM alumnus Piyush Jain.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 04:47, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted honourary doctorate

[edit]

In this edit I deleted the content about Gandhi's honourary doctorate for a few reasons. Here is the content:

For her contribution to the Kannada film industry, Gandhi received an honorary doctorate from South Korea based KEISIE University in 2016.[1]

Here are the points.

  1. It is not based in South Korea, it is based in the US states of Texas and Delaware.
  2. It is not a brick and mortar university, it is an online college, which raises the question about whether or not it is merely a diploma mill.
  3. It does not appear to be considered an accredited post-secondary school by the US Department of Education when one runs a search.
  4. While it claims to be accredited by the International Accreditation Organization,[2] there is some evidence to suggest that this is one of many questionable accreditation agencies used by diploma mills.

Thus, the inclusion of this content is highly dubious and comes off as mere puffery. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:41, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Controversy section

[edit]

I deleted the Controversy section in this edit, largely because it is entirely unclear what the controversy or controversies were and why we should care about them. Are the complaining parties actually noteworthy in any way, or are they just some fringe wackos who want to complain about something?

Gandhi and Gandhi's film Dandupalya, criticised by social group Bahujan Samaj Horata Samiti for her controversial scene in this film, who claimed that its content was offensive.

What was the controversial scene in the film? Why aren't we explaining that? What was offensive to this group? Also, who is this group? Why does their opinion matter? Does it? Are they some kind of fringe group? If so, why do we care what some fringe group thinks? We don't give undue weight to the opinion of fringe groups.

They objected specifically to the film's portrayal of women.

In what way? How are women portrayed in the film? What was their specific argument? Are we trying to tiptoe around some information here? Why are we deliberately using vague language?

Further controversy followed when it was revealed that actress Pooja Gandhi would appear topless in the film.

OK, but did she appear topless? If not, why aren't we clarifying that? Did they just get worked up about some rumour? If so, why do we care? Are we going to care in ten years that some random people got mad because they thought Gandhi was going to appear topless, but then she didn't? Sounds totally ridiculous.

After the release of the movie, Ambedkar Kranthi Sena activists demonstrated in Bengaluru against the film's "glorification of anti-social activities".

Again, who are these people, and why do we care about them? And what are the "anti-social activities" that they are complaining about? Again, why are we using vague language? And where is the contrary opinion from producers, or whomever, about whatever these issues are? We can't have one-sided controversies in a neutral encyclopedia. This isn't the Register Your Complaints Department. This content is entirely problematic and shouldn't be reintroduced until these major issues are fixed.
