Name change

[edit]

There was an attempt recently to change the name of the content to the "Rugby League Players Association". While I do not doubt that the RLP(layers)A exists (based on their website/twitter), I see absolutely no evidence of a change of name/location/CEO/etc, and this article (dated Aug 2017) uses "Professionals" for the P. If there are refs/press releases that demonstrate this name change, I'm happy to enact an article move. Primefac (talk) 17:22, 21 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The only source on the page, which is a link to the official site, refers to it as the Players Association [1]. Mattlore (talk) 19:42, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mattlore, that's kind of my point. The page has existed since '06, and the org since '79, and there is zero evidence of them existing as the "Professionals" Association? Primefac (talk) 12:04, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great, so shall we move the page to "Players" then? Mattlore (talk) 20:44, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I mean... sure? I guess I just wonder why it's listed as "Professionals". Primefac (talk) 21:07, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

BrockC89 (talk) 04:57, 4 December 2017 (UTC) The reason it was listed as Professionals was due to that being the old company name, due to it being a small company/lack of resources I would say that is why there is no official press release/citation for the change, which occurred around 2009. Can we please change this to Players now as it is confusing for all of the RLPA's stakeholders when searching for the company? BrockC89 (talk) 04:57, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
