Shell plc

An IP keeps changing the name at the top of the article from Shell plc to Royal Dutch Shell. My understanding is that the name was changed to Shell plc in January 2022.^[1]^[2] If anybody believes the company is called anything other than Shell plc they should discuss it here. In the meantime the name should be changed back to Shell plc and the article probably needs page protection. Dormskirk (talk) 22:03, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Despite helpful efforts by other editors to change the name back to Shell plc, the IP continues to make disruptive edits without engaging here. Dormskirk (talk) 23:13, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks to Vsmith and others who have sought to restore previous details. I am not sure what more we can do to stop the disruption if the IP won't engage. Dormskirk (talk) 09:59, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have any particular investment in the page, having just wandered by to fix a citation error warning message, but I'd agree that the correct name is "Shell plc" or shortened to just "Shell" as there is also confirmation of that on their own web page. Additionally, the other change that the IP address made after my edit changing "Until its unification in 2005..." to "It is unification in 1907..." is both factually wrong (again confirmed on the Shell website) and nonsensical grammatically.
