Removal of EL

[edit]

Favonian - Why did you remove the IVF-Global Perspective - Religious link? I agree it's not comprehensive but it seems reasonably sources and has more information than currently exists in the article. Specifically regarding eastern religions. Give it some thought and maybe change it back. (or find a different source for that info and add it into the article. Joe407 (talk) 11:12, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This anonymous IP user added external links to a dozen or so articles in violation of WP:EL. She/he has been warned repeatedly, and when I discovered that this didn't make the user stop, I reverted all the additions I could locate. Favonian (talk) 11:18, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but please take a look at the specific link and decide if it should be here. Joe407 (talk) 13:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you wish to add it to this particular article, go right ahead — long as you remember an edit summary and don't do it on a whole slew of articles :) Favonian (talk) 13:41, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

religious response to infertility

[edit]

I added a section addressing the views of the Conservative Jewish movement. As I was writing it it occurred to me that while the rest of this article deals with ART specifically, we may need either to change the article to "Religious response to infertility" and address the broader topic, or create a new article dealing with the broader question. For now, I'm going to leave my addition where it is and see what people say. Any thoughts? Joe407 (talk) 06:26, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spell out abbreviation

[edit]

I propose to spell out the abbreviation in the title as well. Presently it is spelled out in the lede, which suggests the same should be done in the title. Although I know the subject matter as a rabbi, I had no idea what ART stood for until I saw the lede. A clear indication that the abbreviation should be spelled out. Debresser (talk) 10:39, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objection. The only problem is that the title becomes long and unwieldy. As I wrote above, with some work it could be redone to become "Religious response to infertility" or "Religious response to infertility treatments" but given the current content, ART is the most accurate. What does naming convention say? Joe407 (talk) 18:29, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article for Catholic section

[edit]

Here is an article that may give more information for the section on Catholicism. http://www.religion-online.org/showarticle.asp?title=807 I don't know quite enough and I'd appreciate if someone more knowledgeable than myself could see if there is anything valuable in the article. section on donor material

[edit]

After seeing some articles (like this for example) dealing with religious positions on donor material, I'm thinking of adding a section to this article. Can people post additional articles regarding religious views on donor (sperm & egg)? Joe407 (talk) 10:58, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hindu views

[edit]

The birth of Duryodhana, a mythical character is Hindu Mythology http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Duryodhana#Birth involved the sealing of balls of flesh in a pot of ghee. This was sanctioned and supervised by religious heads.

Would it be appropriate to include this in a section that talks about Religious response to ART? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.243.175.79 (talk) 23:44, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

sources for Orthodox Judaism

[edit]

for supervision and support for infertile couples: http://www.puahonline.org/, http://atime.org/ Book for couples experiencing infertility: Finkelstein, Baruch and Michal: The Third Key. The Jewish Couple's Guide to Fertility. Feldheim.

I'm new to Wikipedia and not sure if I'm allowed to cite the websites, also my English is not good enough. Maybe someone else can work with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ninniele (talkcontribs) 22:40, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
