There is something weird about this article. I am not allowed to edit the article to add that Ray Odierno is responsible for 80 strong US troops to raid a Turkish military unit of 11 men, in a most disgraceful way, approaching the Turks pretending to be their allies, then capturing them.
This story and that the Americans had to apologize afterwards is recorded in another Wikipedia article as the "hood event". Why is this comedy? 78.169.153.91 (talk) 21:54, 16 September 2008 (UTC) |

BLP
[edit]This article has maintenance tags dating as early as 2015 and several sections that have no references at all. The fact that they have remained contested for so long is not a good sign. If not addressed soon, I'm going to do a pass on the article and remove any contested material in accordance with WP:BLP. Mkdw talk 05:21, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Mkdw, I made a stab at it, removed anything that appeared to be unsourced. There still looks to be quite a bit of puffery. —valereee (talk) 19:50, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
Death of General Ray Odierno (USA, Ret.)
[edit]There are multiple sources online announcing the death of General Ray Odierno (USA, Ret.); there has not been an official press release from the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Army but that should be forthcoming. There should be any users (IP or registered Wikipedia) reverting this event. -Signaleer (talk) 20:22, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- Update, USA Today released an article, announcing Ray Odierno's death. I suspect there will additional news announcements and press releases in the near future. -Signaleer (talk) 21:01, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- General Odierno announced to the public that he passed on October 8, 2021. -Signaleer (talk) 21:35, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
