[edit]

I contest the invalidity of this article, as Bandar is a key figure in the field of California biological science - primarily with regard to pinnipeds and other ocean dwelling mammals.

His collection of skulls, which is the main point of his notiriety, is of such scientific note that it is considered a satellite holding of the California Academy of Sciences.

He has been the subject of numerous scholarly articles and profiles noting both his life and work, in addition to two documentary films. Finally, he has been a key source of information to lawmakers in California, with respect to costal ecology issues.

Please note, more detail about his life is forthcoming, as soon as I have verified some details about his personal life.

I am removing the proposed deletion tag from this. I would urge the editor who placed it there to at least do a simple Google search before proposing to delete articles - the second hit on a search for "Ray Bandar" unearths a San Francisco Chronicle article about him.
