Hmm... Probable and plausible (ISKON of course George worked with; the article mention that Radha is Krishna's female counterpart), but something a bit more concrete would be great. If they're certainly one and the same, Radha Krishna Temple could be added to Category:Apple Records recording artists and redirected to International Society for Krishna Consciousness. It would be great to get another red link crossed off, but I don't want to do that unless certain. (And if International Society for Krishna Consciousness is Apple's Radha Krishna Temple we'll need to get a mention into that article. Doing some research on the web I've come up with what I believe is the answer. The Radha Krshna Temple (note spelling) at 7 Bury Place, London was the original headquarters of the ISKCON movement in the UK and was founded late 60's or 1970 (the movement only began in 1966). An Apple album (SAPCOR 18) Radha Krsna Temple by Radha Krsna Temple was released in 1970 see Apple Records discography. This press release details the album release. More details of the album are available here and. here. A detailed desciption on George's involvement in the 'movement' is available here. Nice work. I'd say an article on the Radha Krsna Temple detailing the Apple releases and George's involvement with them would be wonderful. We have a picture of the album and some sources (but be careful with these sources as none of them are high quality). Citations can be added using <ref>, and a section added to the ISKCON article with {{main}}. Nice idea for an article. The Radha and Krishna deities from the original Bury place temple are now in the ISKCON temple on Soho Square in London. They are known as 'Radha-Londonishvara'. I think we'd be better off disaggregating the information about the temple from the information about the Apple recordings, especially because my copies of the Radha Krishna Temple singles on Apple use a different artist spelling than the one officially used by the London temple as discussed herein. --AyaK 20:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

To extend my point a little -- the album was indeed called "Radha Krsna Temple" -- I have an Apple poster for it that uses that name. However, the artist that made the album and the singles "Hare Krishna Mantra" and "Govinda" was credited as "Radha Krishna Temple". Am I the only one who thinks we need to disaggregate the album from the artist? If so, I'll leave it the way it is, with just an explanatory note regarding the spellings. --AyaK 18:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Krishna is spelled as Kṛṣṇa when using IAST characters. Sometimes the IAST version is translated into straight English without the changes for pronunciation, but both mean the same thing. Regards, Gouranga(UK) 20:19, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Next steps

I've refactored the stub, added categories, templates and images, and set up redirects. I'd be really grateful now if Krishna-movement editors could fill in details of the temple, Apple experts fill in details of the album, and well... anyone to fill in details of George's involvement with the Temple. Then we can look at adding a brief synopsis to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness article, pointing to here with the {{Main}} template. --kingboyk 12:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Don't forget their vaisnava page,ridiculous on the Radha Krishna page their the write a short verry short comment for a subject with hundreds of historic books, poets, bhajans and mantra's, and movies. Propose separate article to cover the Temple's Apple singles and album

Relevant to the "Confusing" banner currently across the top of the article (and perhaps to the above post – not sure), I'm thinking of taking the Temple's 1969–70 recordings with George Harrison to a separate article: The Radha Krsna Temple (album). Not only is there plenty to add about the singles, "Hare Krishna Mantra" and "Govinda", and 1971 Apple album, but Harrison biographers such as Gary Tillery and Joshua Greene offer a lot about the foundation and early years of the Temple, at least Harrison's role there, so I think there's easily enough to warrant two separate articles.

Only thing to mention at this stage is that, in my opinion, this article on the Temple itself should have Krishna, not Krsna, in the title. An article on the album (and singles), on the other hand, would have Krsna in the title, consistent with how the album title is rendered on the sleeve image. There's inconsistency across sources I have regarding the name of the recording artists, though – that could take a while to figure out. I've always understood it that the album and singles were credited to "Radha Krishna Temple (London)", but taking Castleman & Podrazik's book [Castleman, Harry; Podrazik, Walter J. (1976). All Together Now: The First Complete Beatles Discography 1961–1975. New York, NY: Ballantine Books. ISBN 0-345-25680-8], the authors give "Radha Krishna Temple (London)" as the artists for the two singles but "Radha Krsna Temple (London)" for the subsequent album release … JG66 (talk) 23:56, 29 April 2014 (UTC) Radha Krishna Good Morning Quotes in Hindi

Yes, think the album and the two singles are worthy of separate articles. According to Discogs looking at the labels of the actual vinyl, the album is Krsna and the two singles are Krishna.--Egghead06 (talk) 01:35, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

I'd looked there and seen that too – confusing, but at least it appears to be consistent with Castleman & Podrazik's take on things! As I say, I'm tempted to go with "Radha Krishna Temple (London)" as the name for the recording artist (but The Radha Krsna Temple for the LP title). Firstly, because that's how the credit read for two of their three releases, and also because most of the sources I have spell it "Krishna". Of course, we'd add a note to mention that "Krsna" was also used in the artist name.

Just to be clear, I'm only thinking of one article, covering HK Mantra, Govinda and the LP. The album compiled the two singles (the first of which was released almost two years before the LP appeared in May 1971, after all) and added more recordings made in early 1970, I gather. What I'd do is give each of the singles a separate section – quite a long one in the case of Hare Krishna Mantra. Cheers, JG66 (talk) 06:37, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

• I've written the album article – The Radha Krsna Temple (album) – so I'll be making some cuts here. There are plenty more details to bring into this article on the Temple; in fact, maybe some of the information in the album article belongs here. The other thing to say is I now definitely favour giving the two singles, "Hare Krishna Mantra" and "Govinda", their own articles after all … JG66 (talk) 15:44, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
