There seems to be confusion about who the younger and senior John Wests were. John West senior, a colonel, was also said to have been a partner of Cockacoeskie and to have fathered several sons with her, including one named John West. Was the senior John West supposedly affiliated with Queen Anne, too? Maybe her 20-year-old interpreter was her cousin, not her son. If her son, which John West was the father?--Parkwells (talk) 18:30, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Answer 1. FTDNA - Maj John West, d. 1717, son of Cockacoeske in group 7 B of the West Family YDNA Project is unrelated to Col John West Sr. Maj. James West, the Indian had ydna IS25>I233 (English Col line) and the de la Warr Male Ydna group is M-269.
Answer 2. No, Anne was the niece of Cockacoeske. Cockcoeske is the one who gave a speech to the burgess with John West, her son by an unknown West in tow. There is mention of her "sonne" as it was spelled as being part of the meeting. --71.239.120.235 (talk) 00:41, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
