Reason for move

[edit]

I moved this article from Bande dessinée of Quebec to Quebec comic strips because the "comic strip" is what users of Wikipedia will be typing in the search field. There is no need for a French title if the English translation is adequate.Indefatigable 18:01, 22 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Adding of new sections

[edit]

These new sections are taken from the Quebec comic strips article in the French Wikipedia fr:Bande dessinée québécoise. I'm not finished with this ! --BeauJoualMailbox 01:26, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Back to Quebec comic strips, since there's only a tiny amount on actual comic books... TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 17:48, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the history, you'll notice that the entire contents of the page were just replaced by me on January 11th, and that since replacing them I've added another 4000 bytes of edits. I've been updating the history more-or-less in chronological order, which means that in its current state, its bottom-heavy on its early history. Like American comics, Québec comics' early history is heavy on comic strips. Looking at my sources, however, I see no notable comic strips that have appeared since 1960. Since the BDQ Spring, the history of Québec comics appears to be that of comic books/albums.
Even given that, however, I have trouble looking at the page as-is and justifying moving it to Quebec comic strips. The non-comic strip portions are not that insignificant, even in its unfinished state. The last two sections of the history are entirely devoid of comic strips, as is the Publication, promotion and distribution section (although something about strips should probably be added in there). The Post-war era section also talks about the Seduction of the Innocent-style crackdown on comic books.
Anyways, over the next couple of days, as I get caught up on the history, the article will cease to be as comic-strip-heavy as you perceive it. CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 21:54, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Since there's no need to disambiguate between the publishing forms as yet, "comics" should be the standard form. Cf. Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(comics)#Disambiguation. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 13:39, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
